I picked Rush because we didn't get enough development of the character. I found that guy
fascinating, and I'm STILL pissed they canceled it. An example of an EP ego overrunning
reality. Besides, I greatly admire Robert Carlyle the actor.

Side note: if you haven't read them, I recommend the SGA:Legacy novels. Picks up
right where the show ended, and the characters were perfectly captured, IMHO.

Is there anything continuing Universe, or is that something the new show might want to resolve ?

I hope it's not a reboot. I don't think it needs one. With all the major baddies defeated you already have a blank slate if you want to come up with new villians. Plus I want to know the fate of the "Universe" crew and what happened to Atlantis? I doubt it was allowed to float next to San Francisco. More importantly I want more Rodney McKay. It would be nice to see everyone else of course but McKay I could even see being a series regular again.

As for scientist. I am shocked Daniel Jackson hasn't gotten more love. He was basically the first character of this type going all the way back to he movie.

When last I checked (months ago) the only novel was a novelization of "Air". For some reason,
maybe hope, Universe wasn't licensed for continuing fiction.

They're doing a comic book series.

I just don't consider him in the 'scientist' group. He's a fantastic character but he's not the best scientist any more than Teal'c. His job is to study events that occurred in history, not to study how the natural world works.

Archaeology is a science, but I get what you mean. Daniel doesn't seem to fit into the same category as Carter, McKay, Lee or Zelenka.

Picked Rush. He's clearly a brilliant man but there's SO MUCH more going on there. You never know from one ep to the next if he's finally on board with the team or completely in self-preservation mode. His relationships with the other people on Destiny are constantly changing as well. And, he keeps so much hidden. Really a neat character. Miss the show.
