Another good way to get her attention would be to hit the report button on the first post. I've done it a few times when stuff like this has come up.
 
I haven't dug into it properly yet, but due to the format, I did flip though a little.

I was lucky I was at home, because I started laughing like a crazy person when I saw Dayton's sig line in the table of contents.

I also noticed a bit talking about the Enterprise-C mentioning survivors, and it made me wonder if it meant the people held by the Romulans like Yar, or if some of the crew made it home. The only source I remember suggesting the latter was a SNW story that had Castillo surviving and eventually running into Tasha-Prime on the -D.
 
Does anybody have any idea why the keep delaying the e-book version of this? It was first supposed to come out last week, then it was supposed to be out today, and now when I went to get the free sample, both Google Play and Amazon say it's coming out August 1st.
 
Love the book! It is my fervent hope that there'll be more of these (Bajor, Andor(ia) be Romulus would be high-profile enough).

Apart from two instances, it's intertwined with the novelverse, and retroactively explains how there can be a Quark's franchise without Quark in the novels starting one: a Klingon patron asks for the licence to open one on Qo'noS, so the same may have occurred on Vulcan and elsewhere.

The two instances: The Hur'q invade Klingons after they're spacefaring (=/= The Art of the Impossible, where they're medieval). And how the Borg laid waste to Qo'noS in 2381 is not mentioned.
 
The lack of mention of the Borg attack is probably to the benefit of non-Novel readers.

Dayton was on the Official Star Trek podcast recently and he said it was written for a broader audience, so an event that big was probably left out for simplicity's sake.

As anyone reading this 'in-universe' would have known about the attack, so explaining it wouldn't make much sense IMO

I just finished the Vulcan one, hope to get this one soon

You could possibly say "rebuilt the First City after a recent Borg attack".

(If a book about Bajor was made, tackling DS9 would be tricky, unless it was set well before 2387.)
 
Like the Vulcan book, this wasn't intended to be a distillation of canon or other references. I was encouraged to avoid doing that sort of thing and create a standalone book, in order to maintain a broad-based appeal for casual and hardcore fans alike. Some references from novels/etc. worked better than others while keeping that larger goal in mind. :)
 
What the hell! Is it really that complicated to make the e-book version of something that's already out as a paperback?
Aren't most of the pieces already digital, so wouldn't they just need to convert it to whatever formats the e-books are in? Does it really take an extra month+ to do those conversions?
