Was it? I haven't looked at the Shore Leave line up but for the past several years theres been little to no news put out there. It will be awesome if we get a slew of announcements today or tomorrow.
Moat of the cover releases seem to be on StarTrek.com, but normally memory beta will have info before then. Not sure what their sources are though. If they do a big announcement for a new book, most of the time they seem to be doing them on StarTrek.com now.
Licensing is a two-way street; CBS could decide to work with someone else (or someone else may give them a better offer).I would find it odd if it wasn't renewed already, since Pockets has already invested in a tie-in novel for Discovery. With a new show coming, there's some added attention to TrekLit. And unless the sales are really bad, I think there's enough insentive for Pockets to invest a bit in the rights to publish TrekLit.
Pocket just isn't doing as great a job as it used to.
Honestly I'm kind of hoping for a shakeup. Pocket just isn't doing as great a job as it used to. Tor or (more likely) Titan would probably do some amazing stuff. And with either of those options we could get either Marco or KRAD back in the mix. Which would be fantastic either way.

I tend to see the newest stuff on the S&S site before they make the announcements on StarTrek.com, so the MB editors might just be checking it periodically like I do.Probably here and Defcon.
Does Tor do tie-ins? I don't remember I ever seeing their name on any of the tie-ins I've seen.Honestly I'm kind of hoping for a shakeup. Pocket just isn't doing as great a job as it used to. Most recently The Librarians, though they've also done Earth: Final Conflict, Andromeda, Battlestar Galactica, and Terminator 3. (And possibly more, those are just the ones I've read.)Does Tor do tie-ins? I don't remember I ever seeing their name on any of the tie-ins I've seen.
Technically it was the same publisher (Random House purchased Bantam shortly before the changeover). That also had the licensor pushing a "one-continuity" philosophy, which Trek doesn't have.I guess there's a chance it could continue, Star Wars novels changed publishers, and kept all of the previous publisher's stories in continuity.

Wow, I guess I just missed the publisher on those than. Also, at various points, Farscape, 24, Halo, Deadlands, Mortal Kombat, Freddy Krueger, Power Rangers, Zorro, and several individual movie novelizations over the years.
And I'm tempted to cite the CONAN novels, which we published for ages, including the novelization of the second movie.
Just out of curiosity, did we ever learn for how long the license renewal by S&S was when they renewed the contract that was supposed to end in 2012 with what became Cold Equations?
