I'm pretty sure they've said he at least starts off as Hela's minion, but I could be wrong, and to be honest, I'm feeling to lazy right now to do a search to try to confirm it.

Well then this will be the last Thor movie, I bet they remove him also from the next Avengers movie because Thor: Ragnarok will be a big failure

I don't remember hearing about him being in the movie before this.

I'm curious how the movie will work out with all the villains. He wave Hela, Grandmaster and NOW Surtur? It's one thing if the others were minions of Hela, but Grandmaster and Surtur are pretty high up there.

Perhaps it will be a structure like this -- Hela is established as the main antagonist early in the film (like, when she crushes Mjolnir), Gamemaster is the antagonist in the Barbarian Planet section of the film (but that's the only place where he appears), and then when Thor and his allies attempt to retake Asgard from Hela in the third act Surtur is revealed as the film's true Big Bad.

I think I saw the film described as a "sci-fi/fantasy road movie," so I can see the film having different antagonists at different points in time in the film. That would, in some ways, mimic as classic comic book structure, with periodic cliffhangers and complete changes in narrative direction throughout the film.

Except they only have about two hours or so to do all of that. Planet Hulk should've been it's own movie, as Ragnarok should've been. Instead we'll get two stories hacked up and compressed into one film, hearkening back to X-Men 3.

^Planet Hulk can't be done as a movie unto itself in the MCU because the ending is unworkable if you want to continue to have Hulk in your movies. Either you give him the happy ending where he marries alien chick, lives happily every after with lots of little alien hybrid mutant rage-monster babies and is never seen again...OR, you go the World War Hulk route which makes Planet Hulk ultimately pointless and turns Hulk into a villain. Needless to say they're not doing that anytime soon.

So instead why not just take the cool part of Planet Hulk (the gladiator stuff) and dump it into a fun Thor movie? Much better use of the material.

Plus, Planet Hulk can't work in live action because Bruce Banner isn't in it and Hulk is Hulk the whole way through.

Or you meld Planet Hulk with the Sub-Atomica story with Jarella which allows Banner to be in control of Hulk for a good chunk of the movie and before he can get the happy ending, he gets whisked away back to Earth. Any other tweaks can be made as necessary.

Yeah, Disney already made that movie and it bombed hard. They won't be doing it again anytime soon.
