I waited for yooooouuuuuuu... Pretty creepy. Mr Razor was a cool character all, would have loved to see him as the Doctors assistant instead of Nardole. LOL

I had the same idea. The problem I have with Nardole is that he just doesn't quite feel like he belongs there. I can't quite explain it but he just feels out of place.

I like nardole, but his role as the guy who complains about The Doctor having adventures has really made him wear out his welcome. No one likes a wet blanket trying to stop the story from happening.

The doctor being tied to that bloody vault was one of the year's worse ideas, especially as it doesn't really seem to have led to anything. You could have had the Missy story in WE&T without all that stuff before it quite easily, and not had to talk about it endlessly.

This has been a problem with a lot of recent series.

Any reservations I had about Nardole, particularly as a regular, have evaporated on the strength of Matt Lucas as a performer.

Had he been played by e.g. Lucas' less talented Little Britain co-star David Walliams, I might have been ready to burn down the TARDIS.

I think the vault probably could have been improved if they made it clear from the start who was in the vault and instead made the mystery why she was in it.

I think the implication was supposed to be that Missy was in the Vault as punishment like a prison sentence, hence why she was being executed in the first place. It was meant to underscore the idea of her latter redemption, like a criminal who has a change of heart while in prison. So simply seeing her appear in WE&T and acting like she wants to be good would have been weird. But I would agree that perhaps it could have been presented better since "The Pilot" made the Vault out to be some big mystery which turned out to be rather underwhelming. Maybe not try to make it some big mystery in the first place?

Maybe if they had revealed right away in The Pilot that Missy was in the Vault, then the mystery becomes why is she in the Vault rather than who is in the Vault, which nearly all of us had figured out anyway. This may have meant slightly different scenes in the first five episodes, but everything from Extremis on could still have played out the exact same as they have.

I find myself agreeing with everything he said.
With MrTARDISReviews falling off his schedule years ago, DoctorWHeasel being busy with a radio show and TheFiveWhoFans deciding to do something completely different this series, Stubag has rapidly risen to become my favourite source of Doctor Who reviews. He might just be the British answer to Plinkett.
