I guess they're more than spitballs if you always come here all triggered and in a huff yet never debate anything I bring up...
And I've got over 25 years of working on broadcast television productions and films under my belt, maybe I just might have an idea what I'm talking about?
see you in 4 months...
Hey, and there isn't a single person on this BBS who's ever sold a screenplay or teleplay... except there is.

BTW, as far as trolling goes, I give you the grade of 2.5 out of 10
Generosity, thy name is Bixby. ;)

I note that all 37 times DavidAntman has posted it's always and only been in STC topics, which suggests a pro-STC leaning, so I don't expect objectivity there.

Yet those of us who enjoy ST:C have repeatedly noted that virtually every time you, Bixby, or a certain other member has posted in ST:C threads, it's almost always the same thing: A post implying that you "could do better" since you are all "industry professionals", or (at least in one member's case) the same complaint about "callbacks" to other series over and over and over again. (i.e., spam) So I don't expect objectivity from you lot either.

I look forward to seeing you guys' names on the silver screen, though.

(And yes, I'm proud to be pro-ST:C. It's the only interesting thing to come outta this franchise in 10 years.)

Even if that were true (which I doubt), argumentum ad verecundiam is a logical fallacy. Gimme a week- I bet I could find 10 people with more experience and success in "the industry" than you who disagree with your opinions.

Tooting your own horn to establish your "authority" on a topic is generally not a wise idea- especially when you're a nameless avatar on a Trek message board whose claims can't be verified.

Funny, I don't recall this site as being STC's Facebook page, I actually thought this was a film and tv discussion site related to all things Star Trek...you sure fooled me...

Go right ahead and bring them in...

You'd have to reveal who you are IRL first, wouldn't you- and the multitude of award-winning filmmaking credits on your CV- in order for me to find people who are "more successful and experienced" than you.

Go right ahead...

I'm not the one who bitched about a lack of "objectivity" initially, am I.

Neither Bixby nor Maurice are lying about their credentials. You may not like what they have to say but you're crossing a line by accusing them of lying.

I like Continues. I like a lot of fanfilms. None of them are above fair critique, no matter how much any of us may like them.

I'm not "accusing them of lying." I'm asking for details- I don't just take people's word for something when they're nameless avatars on a message board. And regardless of their credentials, argumentum ad verecundiam is still a logical fallacy. ST:C is certainly not above critique- there are 1 or 2 episodes I really disliked- but I'd never be so egotistical to claim that I could produce something better, no matter how successful a TV/filmmaker I was.

awesome, this is so like a wrestling show crossed with a car accident...
I love how you put words into my mouth that I never said...
But sure, just send me a private message with your private email which includes your real name and current hometown (full address if you're brave enough), and I'll send you back the same as well as my current professional C.V. (why do I ask for your info? I'm not foolish enough to send somebody I absolutely don't trust the means to get in contact with any of my current or former employers just like that, right?)

Respectfully, you absolutely accused Bixby of lying when you implied that you doubted his word. And I quote; "even if that were true (which I doubt).

Frankly, the criticism here is pretty mild, and for the most part fair (for all the productions here). If the folks making Continues can live with it I'd imagine the rest of us can too. Though I'll lay odds nobody from Continues is especially interested in critique, constructive or otherwise. They know what they want to do and they're doing it to please themselves regardless of what others think. That's their right, whether people agree or not. Just as it's everyone else's right to discuss the work they are producing. But if there are posters here whose opinions offend you so much, you can always put them on ignore.

I can't imagine any of the folks who are in charge of ST:C even know of, let alone read, the criticism here.

My name is Donald J. Trump and I'm the President of the United States. My address is public record.

Don't believe me? How DARE you accuse me of lying! ;)

No one's opinions "offend" me - you give them too much credit. But name-calling ("You're deluded") - or spam-posting the same anti-ST:C creed over and over and over again in every thread related to the subject - are specific and distinct violations of the TrekBBS terms of service, and must be called out.

Name, project, and verifiable proof?
Dennis Bailey wrote "Tin Man" for TNG and also worked on the episode "First Contact". He changes his username frequently, but I think right now he's Admiral Buzzkill, and he's been on this BBS forever.

You clearly haven't been on this board long enough to realize I'm tough on EVERYTHING, pro and amateur, and that includes the one fanfilm I helped get out of post-production hell. Also, at the time of its release I gave "Lolani" kudos as one of the best Trek fanfilms, and also wrote Vic privately to say so. That said, I maintain there's to date never been a Trek fanfilm whose script that I would consider network TV quality, and that includes "World Enough and Time".
