Why not? Star Wars has been doing it for years!We've seen that Planet Of The Titans concept art inspired the design of the USS Discovery. We've seen that The Motion Picture (and Into Darkness) concept art inspired the design of the Klingons. Perhaps Phase II concept art will inspire the design of the shuttlecraft.

I've fallen back to a complete wait-and-see position. After all, we have but a teaspoon of knowledge versus an ocean's worth of speculation.
Agreed.....'fans" can really annoy me.
Has potential though.I like a lot of the Phase II stuff, the shuttle was not one of them - too much small aircraft not enough spacecraft.
