Adam West Has Died

This indeed makes me very sad. My condolences go out to his family, friends, fans and loved ones.

Well, I believe that we should hopefully still have one more performance to look forward to. The sequel to The Return of the Caped Crusaders movie was announced a while ago along with the casting of William Shatner's Two Face. I have to imagine, or at least fervently hope, that that performance is in the can by now.

IMDB says "post-production" so here's hoping we get one more chance to hear Adam as the Batman.

I saw the original series plenty in the 70's in reruns, but my favorite role was Mayor Adam West.

Yvonne Craig said in an interview that the eye openings in Adam West's cowl were so small, he had no peripheral vision. Every step he took was a leap of faith. So the eye openings in Batgirl's cowl were made larger.

I remember West's appearance on Fantasy Island, as husband to Carol Lynley. She came to the island not having told Mr. Roarke her fantasy in advance. West follows her there because she'd left such a strange note.

Lynley eventually acknowledges that she'd made a deal with the Devil (Roddy McDowell): her soul in a year's time if he saved West from dying in surgery. Now payment is due.

Roarke risks his own life to ask the Devil for a hearing. In the end the Devil loses, because he's entitled to only three souls. The trio are saved by the child which Lynley and West weren't aware they were expecting.

He has at least one other genre role..

Requiescat In Pace Mr. West..

Aw, man, Adam West was so cool. I was a huge fan of Batman when it was on the air. The worst thing my Mother could do to keep me in line was to threaten to make me miss Batman. Camp or not, that Batman was a great hero and role model, no iffy anti-hero stuff. Around the same time, his Robinson Crusoe on Mars would pop up from time to time on Channel 56, which I also loved.

RIP, Adam West. You could make anything look cool. :(

Very nice.

Sad news. I was wearing my 60s era Batman T-shirt yesterday when I heard the news (one of my favorite pieces of weekend apparel, so not that much of a coincidence).

I just got surprised by Adam West's final recorded performance in the 11th episode of "Powerless" named "Win, Luthor, Draw". (Which was only available on-demand in New Zealand for some reason - so don't ask questions about how I watched it. ;) ) He was terrific, as usual.

Robinson Crusoe on Mars . Now I must watch this.

I mentioned this in the other thread but anyone remember those two live action movies with the TV cast.. The UN being turned into coloured powder..
