CBS/Paramount sues to stop Axanar

He kind of reminds me of a certain other public figure.....
So has he actually done anything of note in the last few months, other than just rant and insult people?

After settling with the studios in part that he would not use crowdfunding for Axanar, he
- ran a crowdfund for 'the studio itself' to fund it through at least the end of the year.
- He got nothing near the amount to cover his rent, so he invited the donors to 'vote' whether it should be used for moving/storing the Axanar sets (notice how close this comes to 'for Axanar' - just he left this part out until after the funding project was over)
- signed away all the donor-paid improvements to the studio in exchange for being let out of his lease and an agreement that he could film there at a discounted rate
- moved everything to a smaller facility 10s of miles out of Atlanta
- *then* announced that shooting the remains of Axanar would be done in California, thus not using the sets he just used the kickstarter to move to Atlanta
- announced that after the 2*15 mins episodes, Axanar Productions (the channel for all the donor money) would be shut down as "having served its purpose"
- announced that he was "open sourcing" the Axanar story to his fanbase to make their own films to complete the story (which both violates copyright and the guidelines about no series productions)
- announced that although they would be moving on to other things, they would still be hosting an "Axacon"
- made some sort of deal with a media firm as a sponsor of some sort for his future 'studio' (another unimproved smaller warehouse).

And somewhere relatively recently along the way after the settlement he pitched Axanar to staff of JPL and got them all excited and wanting to show his film there.

Did JPL happen? Is the sponsor still there? Did he tell them about the lawsuit?

Who knows. But sue Carlos over a graphic, that's where to focus.

So he didn't learn his lesson and is still doing the same kind of shit he did before the lawsuit.

Hard at work on the script............never mind, looking at cats on the internet.

Wait, this really happened? I kind of stopped following this thread in January. What graphic and what came off it?
No.........they all talk shit but then realize they don't have money to sue anyone. It was Lee this time. He and Carlos talked it through...........all the other Axanar Marines still have pitchforks. They might be dangerous but they would have to push back from their keyboards and go outside.

:barf:

He's researching the Kzinti (from "The Slaver Weapon", ST:TAS) to add to the story plot.

The important thing is he clearly has mad money from somewhere allowing him to work on a script and pay for another studio, after investing and losing so much on his previous venture. I'm sure his supporters are glad he set aside personal money somehow through all that, so he is able to continue living a life of leisure.

So he didn't learn his lesson and is still doing the same kind of shit he did before the lawsuit.

Its hard to learn any lessons if you define all teachers as unachieving losers who never rose to the brilliance of your proffered homework.

I think I've been blinded by an image on this page. I'll be seeking recompense, of course. I believe the Satellite of Love jurisdiction will work as a venue.

Historic shame they will never get to host the full length movie. See what you did, CBS?

Maybe a Masterpiece Shorts hosted by Alistair Crow and Drake... Apocalypse (cash) Cow. In which donors take a canoe upriver into the heart of fan filmdom to find Colonel Garth and their money.
