A BIG Spoiler Is Coming

Interesting, sooner than I expected, although that is the beginning of the three-part storyline.

So according to the new DWM the contents of The Vault will be revealed in Episode 6 which I guess rules out it being John Simm in there.

No, it doesn't rule that out. Remember that's the episode where Missy comes back... It's fairly likely to be one of them.

Possibly something or possibly nothing but Rachel Talalay (who's confirmed she's directing the Xmas Special) and Production Designer Michael Pickwoad were spoted at the Doctor Who Experience in Cardiff recently hanging around the Hartnell TARDIS...

John Simm doesn't regenerate into Michelle Gomez...he regenerates into William Hartnell! Shocking twist!!!

;)

If this means what I think it means, they're probably just gathering references to rebuild the console room of Clara's TARDIS. Though I suspect half a dozen click-bait websites are already running "confirmation" of the First Doctor team up rumours.

Is anyone else been spoiled by the prospect of Simm's return? Every other episode I want to see him appear but he doesn't, obviously won't, but still I expect him. Anyone else feel this way?

Not really. I never really expected Simm to show up until the two-part finale anyway. It actually seems to be fandom who have been conflating his role, though to be fair we did have Moffat calling him a brain-melting spoiler, so fans can be forgiven if they expected him to have a larger role in the season.

I don't remember if I saw this anywhere else, but maybe The Doctor regenerates into John Simm, the new Doctor?

BBC themselves said Simm is returning as the Master. As the BBC Charter says they can't tell a lie, then Simm is returning as the Master. The only wiggle room that could allow him to be a new Doctor is if he was doing both. But since people have been claiming Simm would be the next Doctor ever since Tennant announced his resignation, I find it far more likely that he is just playing the Master.

The diner used as the location for Clara's TARDIS has been booked for filming a for a few days in July, so I know which of those is pretty much a definite...

Here's an interesting photo from Episode 11 with Bill dressed and looking identical to how she was in Episode 1, which is odd since TV characters tend to have infinte wardrobes:

And a great quote to go with it too:

MISSY: "I’m that mysterious adventurer in time and space, known only as Doctor Who, and these are my disposables – Exposition and Comic Relief.”

Maybe its an homage to the era of Dr. Who where The Doctor had basically infinite copies of one specific costume (I'm thinking of JNT's era specifically).

That is intriguing.

Considering Sean Pertwee has said repeatedly that wouldn't portray The Third Doctor (any of his father's characters), I highly doubt that one. David Bradley as The First Doctor is possible, but I doubt it. I hadn't noticed Susan's photo in either trailer. Do you have a screen cap?

As to Moffat's proclamation that the big spoiler will "melt your brains," we'll see. Moffatt lies and Moffatt overexaggerates. The spoiler is probably shocking, but probably not nearly as shocking as he's making it out to be. :p

Moffat is skilled at trolling fans

That's actually a pretty good line.

Apart from the Doctor Who bit, if she'd just said Doctor it would have been funnier. I'm not against Doctor Who? gags in general but Moffat has overdone that a bit.

It is very funny though, and I imagine it'll be even funnier hearing Gomez say it.

I definitely agree Moffat has overdone it with "Doctor Who" lines. But this time it works, since from my interpretation it's meant to be a play on people who think the character actually is named Doctor Who, as opposed to Moffat's usual inserting the title of the show into dialogue just for the hell of it.

But, yeah, before Moffat, actually having Doctor Who spoken in dialogue on the show was a rarity. I remember an interview with Mark Sheppard where he considered himself part of the privileged few because he got to say "Doctor Who" in character on screen. Ironically since then it's become such a regular occurrence that it's hardly notable anymore. Hell, despite how rare it might have been prior to The Impossible Astronaut, Sheppard was still one of three actors in that very episode to say "Doctor Who."

Apropos of Nothing (1): David Bradley was spotted in Cardiff on Monday.

Apropos of Nothing (2): They start shooting Capaldi's last episode (in which the 1st Doctor has long been rumoured to be appearing) this week.
