Am I the only one who disliked Icheb?

I'll never understand how Picard was allowed to resume his command, if Starfleet knew that there was still Borg tech inside him.
Exactly. If he had Borg tech still in him, then it's possible at some point the Borg could trigger something to happen in Picard whereby the nanoprobes would awaken, or somehow gestate and start converting Picard's mind to be with the Collective, maintaining a human appearance while being a drone purely by mind alone.

Yep, they'd never have let him continue in Starfleet let alone command a starship.

From that perspective, wouldn't Data be considered just as much of a threat after "Brothers"? He singlehandedly took control of the Federation flagship and exacerbated a medical emergency simply because he received a subspace signal.

Data smarta, he wasn't on Voyager so don't care.

The thing is, nanoprobes need an energy source. These people aren't regenerating in an alcove. I expect that with all of them, a mental "rewiring" makes them sensitive to communications from the collective. But I'd find it hard to believe they've still got working Borg hardware inside them.
Just reporting the lines from both sources as I heard them. Perhaps the writers dropped the ball either by having the lines there in the first place or by not having them have to use alcoves. Perhaps the short length of time they were drones accounts for them not needing alcoves.

Actually, in the First Contact movie, Picard tells Lily that he still has some Borg stuff internally, including nanoprobes, which is probably why he can still hear the collective when they are near. Similarly, in Unimatrix 0, at the end of the second part, the Doctor mentions that he was able to remove MOST (but not all) of the implants of Janeway, Torres, and Tuvok, and they were Borg for only a few days as well. I have to wonder what those 3 still have that are Borg - is it all internal, or is there visible stuff under their uniforms. They kind of dropped the ball with Torres when she first got pregnant, by not mentioning her experiences as a Borg and what effect, if any, that would have made on her pregnancy.
lol and they never finished it, the kid could come out all borg. You would think it would be a huge risk for any ex-borg to procreate.

Star Trek does have its errors... and I'd chalk it up to writer oversight. I don't see any good way to fix it (i.e. fan-wank). Although not quite as bad as the currency thing ("no currency in the 24th century", but then we see currency in use, even by Starfleet members--a topic that has been debated over and over...), I won't lose any sleep over it.

I've always assumed you just wouldn't need money to live on earth, but to go out in the universe you would have to find a way to be self-sufficient.

Yes, as I'd imagine that one of the things done during assimilation would be to remove the reproductive organs, as the Borg don't reproduce sexually and, to them, the reproductive organs are thus irrelevant and taking up space that could be better used for more implants.

I interpret the Borg baby shown in "Q Who" as an indicator that at least a portion of the Borg remain capable of reproducing sexually.

I always saw that as the Borg had assimilated a woman already pregnant and they removed the baby from the womb and put it in a maturation chamber. And, in Q Who, they were still formulating what the Borg were all about - note how different the inside of the cube and regeneration alcoves looked from later episodes in all shows who used the Borg.

I thought Icheb kind of played a minor but notable part in Voyager. He was like typhoid Mary to the Borg. He was harvested for a life saving operation for Seven. He even showed up at the end as an indicator that Tuvok was unwell.

If the Borg assimilated a world, they would have thousands of babies on their hands. Those babies would get placed in maturation chambers.

This for sure, and we all know they've assimilated thousands of worlds. This would also go for any ships they assimilate, it seems a good amount of cultures take their kids with them on their ships.
