MLB 2017: The Yankees are dead, Yankees burn in hell

Root covers the entirety of the state of Texas, so he'd need a cable subscription. I believe all of Texas and Louisiana are covered under both the Astros' and Rangers' territorial rights, in fact.

Edit: Oh, God, Dusty Baker already gave his "We don't start trouble, but we certainly don't take trouble lying down" tough guy talk yesterday after the game. Hopefully if the Nats feel they have to bean somebody (please don't, Dusty, even though you're a moron and I expect nothing less of you), it won't be the guy who's fresh off the concussion DL and spent the brawl standing off to the side looking on disapprovingly.

Agreed. Posey's a great player and seems like a good guy off the field. He doesn't deserve to get thrown at because of what Strickland did. Of course, Dusty's an idiot and won't hesitate to escalate the situation by plunking Posey his first time up.

MLB 2017: Hope Springs Eternal (unless you're the Padres)

So far, the Padres have taken the first 2 games vs the Cubs, so maybe May springs eternal for them? Or "Hope May Eternal"?

Either way, it wasn't bad enough getting swept by the Dodgers, now we're losing to the second worst team in the MLB.

Bats, they are sick. I ask Jobu to come, take fear from bats.

And that didn't actually happen, did it? /covfefe

After watching the game last night and being shocked at how quiet it was, I have a feeling that, assuming Manfred is following the example that Selig set, along with the notifications of the suspensions a very sternly worded message was sent to both teams that any further disturbances would be looked upon less than fondly.

Oh, another example of how MLB sucks at marketing: Pujols could hit his six hundredth homer anytime, but I guarantee you about 95 percent of baseball fans have no idea.

Live footage of Maddon's post-game press conference after the Cubs got swept by both the Dodgers and Padres:

Something showed up in my timeline about the Mets apologizing for "the inappropriate action of this employee". What the hell are they talking about? What happened?

Yep, the pressure is getting to everyone in Citi Field.

Jorge Soler is sent to the minors. Meanwhile Wade Davis notches his 12th save in 12 chances after the first career Schwar-slam puts the Cubs in front.

Also in this game, Jon Lester picks Tommy Pham off at 1st base......the world might end now, we'll have to wait and see.
