Theory on the Masters crossover...

Emperor-Tiberius

Rear Admiral
Rear Admiral
Basically, when the Doctor enters the Vault (which he will), he tries to find Missy, and thats where he sees all the incarnations of the Master, with Simm being the "predominent" one. They're there, like echos of Missy, not the real thing, sort of like the 11 Doctors at the last frames of Day of the Doctor.

What do you think?

Seems plausible. It would certainly explain the rumours hinting at Roger Delgado or Anthony Ainley returning, if they're just hastily digital additions like Hartnell in Name of the Doctor, not actual recreations like Rogue One Tarkin. Though I will be very surprised if Simm and Gomez don't end up sharing a scene together, somehow.

Makes sense if we are indeed getting all of the previous Masters appearing. And I would be shocked if Simm and Gomez didn't get a scene together.

Well, it would've been a huge waste of an appearance if Simm and Gomez didn't get a decent number of scenes together!

Barely on topic, but does Eric Roberts count as a former Master? Seeing as he was actually a snake riding around in someone else's body rather than being a body he regenerated into, I'm a little iffy on that...

If the do a montage I imagine they will show Roberts. I think Roberts is a decent actor, and he did fine as Bruce the paramedic, just not the Master. Seeing as McGann hammer some things up I feel most of the bad acting was actually bad direction.

I see it as no different than The Master taking over Tremas' body. If they have a montage, I would be disappointed if Roberts wasn't included. I will be even more disappointed if they don't get Geoffery Beevers involved considering how much work he's done with Big Finish.

Eric Roberts was a fine Master for most of the movie when he was in the leather coat and sunglasses, with the eerily calm personality and line delivery, I'd easily rank him among Delgado or Ainley there. It's in the climax when he "dresses for the occasion" in Time Lord robes and suddenly becomes an over the top cartoon villain that things fall apart. But I'd lay the blame for that more on the writer or director than I would on Roberts.

I agree.I liked that we got to see just a bit of Bruce before, too, to show that there was a life that he took. What was the name of the film writer again?

Matthew Jacobs.

I originally hated Roberts' performance, but I've seen gone to love Roberts as an actor thanks to The Dark Knight, Heroes, Justified, and Oz, to name a few.
