Ruminations:
Rainbow Dash's parents! We finally get to see them! For years, Bronies have speculated on whether or not Dashie's parents were alive. Several seasons back, we saw Dash being held aloft by what appeared to be a rainbow maned relative, possibly a brother, cousin, or maybe even father(?). Now the rumors, fanfics, and other postulations will be laid bare, to be checked for accuracy. Who is right? Who is wrong? Find out in this episode! Also, Scootaloo.

This episode was so much fun! Yes, I watched it in advance thanks to TreeHouse TV, because I couldn't wait, and it was worth it! Getting to finally see Rainbow Dash's parents made 7 seasons of waiting worth every second. I won't give much of anything away, because I don't want to spoil the fun, but suffice to say this episode was a slice of life that really took a big piece of the pie. While it's not my favorite episode of the season, it ranks right up there. This one gets a solid A!

It was so much fun to see the ponies that made Rainbow Dash who she is. They're fun parents, if a bit... strong at times. And...
Scootaloo has a big sister and now parents that will adore her wholeheartedly. I want to know what happened to her biological parents and where in Tartarus they are! Why did they abandon her?

**POSSIBLE SPOILERS ** READ AHEAD WITH CAUTION**

That is an excellent question. When Scootaloo states that she didn't have that kind of support at home, we're left with a few options: Firstly, that she has no parents, perhaps she's growing up in an orphanage. Secondly, that she has parents, but they're either too busy to be at home, or just don't care (the second one has always been at the back of my mind). Any of these options make for sad Scootaloo, and definitely gives us a good foundation that supports the idea that Scootaloo is pretty much on her own. This is why she is so attached to Rainbow Dash, because she sees a pony who isn't afraid to try something new, to brave the unknown. She sees Dashie as the big sister she's never had, and the authority figure she's always wanted. That's my two bits on the subject, and I hope we learn more about her parents, though they may leave it like they have the status of AJ, AB, and Big Mac's parents: unspoken but implied.

I love Dashie's parents, but I completely understand where she's coming from. When I was growing up, I excelled at everything, but when I did make mistakes, they were just as vocal about how smart I was, and how much potential I had. It could be immensely stressful at times, even though I knew they meant well. It does do damage, though, so when Dash explodes at her parents, I don't fault her one bit, and I was a *touch* annoyed that Scoots didn't understand that, though I get why she couldn't.

This was also the best representation of the Wonderbolts I've seen in a while. To be honest, I've seen them as rather snide and a bit elitist, even if they're not supposed to be, because of their attitude towards Dash in the past. They were much improved this episode, seeming more like decent ponies. This really was a solid episode.

Also, thank you for posting, @Peach Wookiee! I was getting worried no one was watching the show anymore! Few to no responses in the threads, BK is quiet as a mouse and has been for weeks aside from my normal routine there. It's a bit worrisome!

I think the world is just so stressed out, we forget to talk about ponies. They're a bright spot in my world as they've been since I discovered the new show. People are watching, but they need to talk about it again.
As for the episode, yeah, I could see where Dashie was coming from too. Their fireworks display.... oh man...

I was sure they were going to take out one of the Wonderbolts with those. :D
Also, did you see filly Derpy?!
