Looks gorgeous! I don't like the Klingons' new look but otherwise, it's fantastic on the first look. Didn't see Jason Isaacs, though...

Love it. My only complaint - I wish we had something more concrete than "This Fall", but this will tide me over for a while. Uniforms look good, Klingons look interesting, effects look awesome, story looks interesting. It's a good time to be a Trek fan.

I don't think that ship is the Discovery, wasn't Michelle Yeoh's character suppose to be in command of a different ship?

First impressions:
1. The show itself certainly looks impressive. I like the fact that the world they're building seems so expansive. Also, for a series set in space, I like that we'll see some actual spacewalking.

2. How many people will quibble about the (admittedly Star Wars-esque) hologram communication? Didn't bother me, but I know it will chafe others.

3. Whether you think this show's aesthetic fits into the timeline as it's been established may be a sticking point for a lot of fans; personally, I like it.

4. I love the the more primal-looking Klingons. They should look as menacing as they are.

EDIT: I forgot to mention this before I posted, but the show copies a beat from the Star Trek Uncharted (previously Star Trek Beyond, before the guy gave the name to Paramount in exchange of being allowed to offer his pitch) proposal, about an alien character being capable of sensing impending death.

So based on the trailer it sounds like Michael Burnham is going to be in command of a ship very soon after the series begins. Perhaps even in the first episode.

I'm pretty usre these aren't the klingons we're seeing. I think these might be the ancient Klingons.

I'm like 80% certain they purposely through us off the trail with this trailer by showing no sign of the Discovery.

I have a completely unsupported hypothesis that the Shenzou get's her Starship ass handed to her by Klingons for violating some sacred Klingon territory.

Also I now laugh at any of the Axanar fans who said that CBS was afraid of how good Axanar looked. Axanar looks like a rowboat by comparison.
