Am I the only one who disliked Icheb?

My take on the character was that he was boring, emotionless version of Wesley Crusher. Granted I didn't like the idea of Borg children to begin with because it continues to make the Borg as a species less intresting but what I mostly didn't like was they repeated the Seven of Nine idea of having a character with almost no emotion. Then they made him super smart and basically a square which brought back Wesley Crusher vibes.
You would think if you wanted to write Seven as a parent, which isn't a bad idea, that you would want to go with a character who has the oposite kind of personality as she does. Also if they were going t keep one of the kids I think the girl would have been the best option . She actually got a few good jokes in on the show plus she could have been friends with Naomi who seemed to take a backseat to the Borg kids even though she was 10 times more intresting.

I didn't mind him either. I thought when the Borg kids came on board they would be annoying but they didn't dominate the shows like a lot of kids do when they are in the cast of a predominately adult show. Especially comedies where you just cringe at seeing some brat hamming it up to the camera.

Let me save you some time:
No, you are probably never the only one liking or disliking any aspect of Star Trek.

Often, people's issues stem from trying to attract all audience demographics at some point.

Icheb was a good young lad but a little more "wild" personality would not have hurt, towards the end of Voyager. Of course, it went for others children too.

No one is ever 'the only one' to like or dislike something in Star Trek.

I didn't mind Icheb. They didn't use him enough for him to get on my nerves and it was interesting to see what the Borg did to children.

I will say this about him is that I do think we got 2 solid ep's out of the character. The one were he meets his real parents and the ep were Seven is dying and he gives her his cortical node.
Problem though is "TNG" also got a few good ep's out of Wesley such as "First Duty" but to me it was the character overall that I disliked.

I was rewatching select episodes, I lost complete interest once they started involving the children.

Wesley was a regular cast member appearing in like 70 episodes. Icheb appeared in like 5,10? And even if he was a little annoying in season 1, I thought he was great in many episodes, like the bonding, samaritan snare, even the one with Ashley Judd.

Icheb had some great moments too. I like the episode where he thinks B'elanna is coming on to him, and Paris subtly challenges him to a duel. Or when he scans B'elanna with a tricorder and says "I'm reading a second lifeform. It could be a parasite!"

I never really liked him. I found him rather bland and uninteresting.

I could never understand why they brought him in when they had such a tight budget. The actor probably didn't do the job for free.

Am I the only one that was grossed out in the episode where Icheb saves Seven by giving her his implant? That thing was like a roll of quarters! Last time I saw it, I had to turn away.

Problem is that brain surgery had regressed from the day's of "Spock's Brain" were getting to brain is just as easy as opening the top part of your head like it's a lid to cookie jar.
