News Seth MacFarlane’s The Orville

I see pure TNG in those sets and uniforms. I'm not a fan of McFarlane's work, in fact I didn't laugh once at the trailer, but am willing to give this a shot.

This movie looks painfully terrible. Just ugh. Seems to want too hard to "have it both ways" between a comedy/satire and a serious sci-fi drama. I suspect it'd make it two episodes before it gets into the juvenile Family Guy/Ted style low-brow humor.

Absolutely nothing about this series looks interesting to me.

I've rewatched the trailer, and apparently I've warmed up to it, and noticed a few more details this time around. I noticed the marble scene this time around, and that got a good chuckle, and that as someone mentioned above, Norm MacDonald is the voice of the ooze crew member, which is awesome. I am definitely looking forward to this.

One thing you can always count on from Trek fans: Give them what they ask for, and it's never what they wanted. :techman:

I was checking out the reception on reddit and it seems o be very well received. I'm more optimistic of it's chances now. After watching the trailer for the 3rd time I've decided I love it.

Ok here's my guess: (This is serious business)

Blue = Officer

Green = Science or Medical

Orange = Engineer

Red = Redshirt :^)
After seeing the trailer, I now think orange might actually be flight personnel, at least the two wearing orange are at the stations which on Star Trek would be helm and navigation.

I'm not completely bowled over by the comedy in the trailer, but it seems fun.
Hopefully there's a lot more character based humor that was judged to be not a good fit for a peppy trailer.

That trailer looked fun. Really do like the brightness of colors and I can see the TNG appeal. Might be worth checking out.
