It stems from the natural aging process. In Before and After we see that as part of the aging process they loose their memories. This is what was happening to Kes. Her memories were starting to break down which caused her anger and confusionI just watched that episode. Very odd. Where did this idea come from that Voyager's crew "abandoned" Kes? As I recall, when Kes leaves it's her decision. She then shows up in a small ship a few years later, beams over to Voyager, goes on a rampage, etc, etc. No explanation at all of how and why Kes changed and decided to take revenge on Voyager.![]()
