Are the sets going to GA? Is LFIM and Supergirl and Diana all moving as well? None of this makes a bit of sense. Did he launch the IndieGogo just to fund the move?

Diana is staying put. Don't know about Crysssstal.

Fucker is just out there man. If you are still shooting in LA why do you even need a studio in Atlanta. He's obsessed with owning a warehouse....ummmm studio and being the MGM of films never produced.

I'm curious if some unrelated personal stuff for LFIM necessitated this move. Support is dwindling, so it would stand to reason that he relocate to someplace where he has stronger ties, that way, he can just let this con 'Peter out' and it would be easier for him to lay low/fade to black etc.

And why move the sets to ATL to then film in LA? You either have to transport them back to LA to shoot or the LA stuff will be all green screen. If it is all green screen I'm sure ATL has green screens.

This whole thing makes zero sense. If I didn't know any better I'd assume he had no clue what he was doing.

Potemkin Pictures has NO association with Alec Peters. We generally maintain excellent relations with all fan films. But Axanar is NOT a fan film, remember? It's an independent, professionally produced Star Trek film, or so we were all repeatedly told again and again. And Carlos, skeptic is too kind. :)

Thank you!

Good to hear. With Alec throwing that out with no detail it invites speculation which may have been waht he wanted. Glad you guys are not involved.

He talks a lot. He contradicts himself. A lot of what he says turns out to be untrue. He uses his Trek fandom to raise money. As long as he can say "Star Trek" ooops I mean "Axanar" and people will just hand him money, he's going to keep doing it. It's like the panhandler on the corner. Stop giving him money, and he will go away.

I think he's got a new scheme he's going to launch after he settles in Atlanta........maybe another fandom is about to get raped or just another HUGE idea that needs crowdfunding. Even if the new place is ONLY $3000 a month how can this be sustained with NO INCOME?

A ponzi-scheme type setup..........he'll ruin another fandom while diverting whatever funds back to Axanar, all the while cultivating a new cadre of acolytes

Donors won't stop, there are an infinite pool of new ones at any moment.

"If you violate this new agreement enjoining you from attempting to cause any public fundraising mechanism to collect money with any reference to Star Trek or any of its protected IP, for any purpose whatsoever, you contract that you will pay 10 million dollars as liquidated damages per IP item violated, waiving right to trial. Further, you agree that you must obtain within 60 days, and on an ongoing basis, consent to be bound by this agreement from any corporate or volunteer entity in which you have any involvement or participation, paid or unpaid, where that organization or group is in the media business" is what is needed.

This is what I started suspecting several months back - textbook Ponzi scheme - a real "pay it backward" scam play. However, I am both equal-parts impressed and disgusted at how that little cockroach has gotten away with so much bullshit. Then I got to thinking...

The REAL reason he moved to Atlanta was that he might have actually been getting death threats from the...shall we say...less stable/extremist/purist/militant elements of the fandom who might have given him a metric ass-ton of cash in donations to build an anti-Abrams "real" Star Trek story in the Prime Universe, only to wind up feeling extremely ripped off and vitriolic about his shenanigans, to the point of near-murderous apoplexy.

There are some of those out there, right? ;)

I'm thinking the REAL reason he moved to Atlanta ...

One would hope not. Perhaps something more prosaic, like shutting down corporate presence in CA may reduce the profile for government consumer protection action against Axanar/Industry, and GA may have more lax laws about this matter.

No, they've stopped - that's why he's running for Atlanta with his tail tucked behind his legs. His latest money grab failed. True, there will always been some idiots who will give another idiot money, but with each subsequent failure to meet expectations, his reputation will get more and more synonymous with not being able to deliver.

You know, MGM really dropped the ball with Stargate. they've completely abandoned the whole concept! And what about Battlestar? That's dead in the water despite being a successful show with spin offs! It needs to be revived in memory of a friend!

Seriously though, hopefully if he does switch to another fandom, they won't be as gullible.

I am told by insider sources that he has been physically threatened at conventions. I'm not sure I trust that as the main source for this information is Alec Peters who's grasp of the truth is as loose as a Cardassian tailor having a panic attack, but it wouldn't surprise me; these things catch up to us, and he has been rather obnixious and threatening to several people (whilst his cult do the same).

You get back what you give after all. Though I doubt that was a solid reason, this whole Industry campaign failure has backed him into a corner and he's been in that corner for quite some time; and despite showing signs of being a bad businessman, bad spokesperson, horrible human being and terrible liar; he's not an idiot. He knows when to run for freedom.

Why I am so upbeat, by Alec:

1. I believe in creating "true Trek" and that the franchise has abandoned it but many fans still want it, so I am truly serving the fans.

2. I am surrounded by industry professionals who have accomplished great things, know what is going on with Axanar, and haven't left, so they by their presence imply I have done nothing wrong and am suited to do this work with donor money.

3. The intellectual content of any argument has no standing unless it comes from someone who is a seasoned professional in the topic area of the argument. Further, all my critics have never accomplished anything great, like what I have accomplished.

OK, by this reasoning

1. anyone who has failed miserably to 'serve the fans' should step aside, since that is the top requirement for doing this work.

2. arguments that many seasoned professionals support Axanar have no standing unless a certified journalist who can independently document it can know who they are and interview them.

3. since the entire staff of the Axanar team lacks qualified space scientists, exopsychology experts, interplanetary warfare seasoned professionals, and starship engineers, the ideations of the Axanar team about these topics have absolutely no right to be expressed or considered in any form whatsoever

I know right. As of this posting my own thoughts lean like this:
To complete the promised 2015 film that settled in the lawsuit against it to be no more than two 15 minute connected story parts. That CBS/P conceded & allow the originally promoted Star Trek actors (& ST production people?) to still be in if they still have interest or time.

To do so our really big Yuge Awsome green screen we bought that stays in LA in our studio we paid for that is in the hands of landlordDanny would be 'perfect' for shooting those actor's parts! Right? Because all of them live and continue to work in and around LA?

Moving on. What fresh hell is this?
defendantGarth: "but we will have a new fundraiser to make Axanar in its 2 - 15 minute form."

Too blatant a statement to not already have a planned workaround. Shenanigans still directly tied to thiswholething aren't over yet?

Is this statement actually confirmed to be defendantGarth speaking? @RedForman, do you know the source of that quote? Is it a defendantGarth tweet? Some comment section somewhere?

CBS/Paramount! You are on top of these things, right?!

Whaat? No way. Nu uh. Absolutely no.

What about teh ROb? What roll will he play in the new Axanar Productions? The truncated version of Axanar? All this and many more questions will be answered on the next episode of 'Soap.'
The Editing Bay!! That would make some sense to me. umm, as of this posting with the information I currently have ('none') I mean.

will be answered on the next episode of 'Soap'
(an awesomely great ground breaking TV show! Luved that show. You know, I find it still holds up in rewatch even after all these 30-odd years)
