Where Have All the Prospects Gone?: The State of TrekLit in 2017

Millenials live in their parents' basements and wouldn't know UFP values from an abacus.
I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you're using hyperbole for humorous effect in this and your previous posts.

You're coming dangerously close to crossing the line into being pointlessly insulting though and that will earn you a warning which on this site add up to temporary bans from the site (check out the rules, it should list the numbers).

Forthright opinions are fine, humour is fine, insulting the users of this forum is not.

And this thread is about the gaps in this year's schedule, so perhaps we should get back to that?

From what I gather, at least from talk during the election last year, millennials as a class seem to be closer to UFP values than their predecessors -- more ethnically diverse, more inclusive, more flexible about sexuality and gender identity (which should logically be a UFP value even if it hasn't been shown that way onscreen until recently), less religious, more focused on building a better future rather than clinging to the past.
The Brexit referendum data backs that up. The two age groups that consist of millenials only have voted to 73% (18-24 years old) and 62% (25-34) for remain.

What has the first thing to do with the second?

I prefer readers to shake my books back and forth during space battles. :)
That is great advice, thanks :) As soon as I read another of your books I will try that out^^ I'm sure the other students will think I'm insane or something
I also make it a point to cut out every mentioning of a dead character. Needless to say that my Mack books are completely unreadable. And I also need to purchase a new Kindle every few days.

Uh, sorry trampledamage, I didn't see your post until I postet mine.

Yeah, the gaps in the schedule.. I am still angry that we didn't get a new VGR book for a year! And by the time it will finally be released it will be two years. But at least KMFB works on DSC and I am definitely looking forward to that.

If means we'll get at least a little KMFB awesomeness in DSC then I'm happy to wait longer between Full Circle Voyager books.

Schedule? What schedule? This is an Internet gossip group. Why would I conform to its trivial rules and conformist values? Go along in order to get along? No way! We're talking about fiction. Dime novels. Throw-away airport books. Time-killers. Brain candy. Grow up!

Do what you have to, chump! You suburban milquetoast! Ban me. Ban yourself. Bask in your power!

I'll read the numbered TOS novels, and yes, even the Cox work, written by a contributor to this "BBS", whatever BBS means.

Individual actions and thoughts are mightier than this chat group's group think mamby-pamby politeness and squeamish trembling.

Get a life, you punks!

I'll return in August. Too much nonsense here. I will spend my time better by reading Star Trek Space Opera rather than discussing idiotic latter-day Ferengi and Wesley Crusher Nonsense Trek.

For the Federation!

I am...very curious; of the TOS novels you've read, what are the most recently published? Because the last numbered TOS novel was published 15 years ago. And TOS is only maybe half of Treklit output at most.

You're coming in with an extremely blunt and negative opinion that seems a decade and a half out of date based on your description, and demanding that other people prove you wrong. Do you realize that might come off as a little offputting at best?

I'm not here to please you, you lawn-mowing suburbanite! You people are not partisans of the UFP. You are widdle boys in awe of explosions and ray gun blasts!

Only TOS is Trek. The rest is dreck.

Chrome Domes are morons!

I've issued a formal warning for this post for flaming. I could just have easily warned you for any of your other posts from today for trolling. If you continue, I will do so.

Please don't post unless you're going to do so in good faith to the purpose of the topic and the forum. I like to keep things relaxed and friendly here.

I am a Millennial. I graduated into the middle of the Great Recession. I moved 400 miles away from my family, am employed full-time at a job where I regularly work over 40 hours per week, and I spend hundreds of dollars every month to support my mother back home, who is physically disabled and cannot work.

I'll thank you not to stereotype people for having the misfortune of graduating into the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression.

You're wasting your breath.

As for being a Millennial, I guess I count as one too and I've never lived anywhere with a basement, plus you know, I'm married and actually moved countries given the state of affairs in my home nation.

Also, you'll most likely outlive the Boomers.
