Meh. Since she wrote "The Tholian Web" how long has this been bouncing around in her thoughts? Maybe STC was the perfect opportunity to continue a story she always had?

I really wonder about that. I'd like to know if that was really the case or if the story was suggested to her.

I would really have liked to been at the Premier and the Q&A afterward to see what kind of questions and answers were given. My gut feeling is she approached them given Vics statements in the past about people pitching stories.

I'm glad Larry mentioned that the uniform Rekha is wearing was a misdirect. It had me fooled, thinking she was going to be returning in one of the final three episodes as a crew member.

A very nice interview, but there must be a misprint in Wikipedia, she has to be at least 10 years, if not 15 years younger than what is posted there, or she found the fountain of youth.

I hope they taped the episode and just edited it out for the Q&A sessions, I'd like to hear the audience reactions. One of my favorite versions of "Pilgrim of Eternity" is a video that was shot during the Phoenix Comicon premiere which included the entire episode and the Q&A session afterward. Just hearing the audience responses during the episode transported me there, and takes me back to the first time I watched it. There were 4,000 people in Phoenix, and I guess only 400 people for this one, but it still would be nice to hear the reactions.

Was anyone else really hoping that...

Older Kirk was in fact the result of Normal Kirk beaming over to the Defiant at the end of this episode, in some kind of weird time-travel, predestination paradox? Because I was.

And that was the memory Tiberius was blocking from Older Kirk's mind?

And that Older Kirk would realize that his crew loved him as they try to save Normal Kirk, and then Older Kirk would die happy knowing that they did in fact save him?

Just me...?

No questions for Judy :(

I'm surprised with just how little time they were given for Q&A at that panel. That's probably why no one asked Judy any questions.

On the content of the Q&A, I liked that Vic is saying the destruction of the Hood from Embracing the Winds will eventually be explained. I kinda figured that was going to play into the endgame for the series.

Excellent episode, I really enjoyed this. Well-acted with terrific special effects. It really felt like the original series to me.

I would also cite Once More onto the Breach from DS9 as an influence, namely the scene in the transporter room at the end.

IMHO, the reason it works is because it sure sounds like Horner is directly aping TOS here.
