What do you think about this friendship and how it developed over the years in the DQ?

It was fun for me watching it from the first moment when Tommy boy prevented Harry from being ripped off by Quark in the pilot episode.....

My personal highlight: the Non Sequitur episode.....

I liked it, but they didn't take it far enough...if y'know what I mean...

Also, it's hard to believe Tom wouldn't have simply given up on Harry at some point. "Harry...seven years and you're still an ensign? Seriously dude, WTF? I went from lieutenant to ensign and back!"

I love their friendship. Their best momebts for me were in The Chute and in Lineage when Tom had to sleep on Harry's couch

I like how Harry didn't let what Cavit and the other man (the original doctor) were saying about Tom get to him. He was a good and loyal friend.

It was a heartwarming and endearing aspect of Voyager. I really think it showed. Male friendships are always endearing and inspiring.

It's alright, definitely not on par with O'Brien/Bashir, but the best among the VOY characters.

Would you rather play Davey Crockett with you buddy in the holosuite or Captain Proton with your buddy on the holodeck?

I always felt they were missing Dick. You know, Tom, Dick, and Harry.

Yeah, there definitely needed to be more scenes with Dick there.

The interesting thing about their friendship is that it would have likely never happened if they'd met in other circumstances. Because they were in a kind of "captive audience" kind of a situation, where their friend choices were severely limited, it's interesting to see how they first became friends because of sheer necessity eventually turned into a real friendship, though Harry was always the Barney Rubble to Tom's Fred Flintstone.

I like their friendship. How many episodes highlighted it?

Perhaps not. They started talking on DS9 when Tom helped Harry with his Quark situation. Even before they knew they were "stuck" together their friendship had already taken root. We see this all through Caretaker

Maybe, but maybe it would have been a passing interaction, too.

Doesn't Kim sit by Tom in the Mess hall in Caretaker? Commander Cavit and the CMO are looking over. Paris is like "They told you to stay away from me, you should probably listen to them." and Kim is like "I don't give a crap what those A-hole squares think! They ain't choosing who MY friends are"

Yeah Kim seemed to see more in Paris than the rest of the ship on the anti-Maquis mission.

That's why none of the Bridge crew are named Richard. Janeway's fussy about who she allows to serve up there... not just any Tom, Dick, or Harry will do.

Okay, now I'm seeing Chakotay in a Fred Flintstone outfit, and Janeway as Wilma (hey, she already wears her hair in a bun!)... and we know Wilma is smarter than Fred.

    Although...

If Tom = Fred and Harry = Barney, who gets to be Wilma, Betty, Mr. Slate, Dino, and the kids?

Seven of Nine would definitely have to be the mysterious "Madame Yes"... the woman who slinks around in the Jay Bondrock adventure and is "too important to be captured."
