Germany exclusive Star Trek trilogy "Prometheus" coming in 2016

Funny enough Cross Cult hasn't much to do with S&S normally. The rights to translate ST novels from English to German were brokered by a CBS related agency in Germany called CPLG. They also were our contact to talk to CBS about Prometheus. As far as I know S&S hat nothing to say or do about it. Cross Cult is just another licensee from overseas. That said we were totally allowed to contradict or forget about the TrekLik continuity - but we chose not to do, because we are avid fans of what has been done with the Prime Universe since the end of the shows and movies. So we really tried to tie things together (i.e. find our niche between "The Fall" and novels like "Takedown" and "The Missing") and we hope that effort will survive the next few novels from our colleagues in the US. :)

By the way: I know the scheduled release of volume 1 is delayed already. Please don't ask me why. I'm not sure what is going on behind the scenes at the moment. Perhaps the editing process by KRAD took some more time or they are in serious talks with US publishing houses and are waiting for the results. As soon as I know more, I will let you know.

Well, that would certainly go toward explaining a few things.

Guess we're gonna need those translations, then. :)

I'm sorry, but no. Cross Cult is still talking to publishers and as long as they are in talks they have postponed the release of the ebooks.

Yeah, the fact that there are still talks going on is a good sign. If no one was interested then the talks would have stopped.
If/when the books get a US publisher will that publisher automatically get the rights to the e-book versions too? If the publisher doesn't want the e-book versions, could Cross Cult still release them themselves, or would we just not get them at all?

I think that's all stuff that would have to be negotiated.

OK, I wasn't sure if there was some kind of a rule about e-books only being allowed to be published by the same company that publishes the paperback.

No, there is no rule. Everything is negotiable. But of course most publishing houses try to get all the rights they can, that is for print versions, e-books, perhaps audio books.

Well, as much I really, really prefer paper, this trilogy might just be worth it to buy as e-book IF (and that's and if) it doesn't get published as paperback

That's interesting news I hope it's true the Prometheus Fighting Fire with Fire will be coming out later this year.

Nothing on the UK site yet.
There's nothing on .com or .de either. But a Kindle version by Titan is also listed on .ca

I would assume that it is a very sure thing that Titan secured the english language rights with that listing.

I just searched Star Trek on the US, UK, Canadian, and Australian Titan Books pages, and Prometheus wasn't among the results on any of them.
