I went to watch TOS tonight and noticed it was in Widescreen and thought it was some kind of error. But no....All 4:3 films and shows have been zoomed in to be widescreen.

Nevermind it was an App on my computer that did it, sorry guys.
Not seen, but I suspect the latter...I certainly don't approve of altering any visual media in this way. As our friend Christopher pointed out in another thread, it's like cutting off pieces of a painting to make it fit the frame. But, JOOC, has any care been taken with cropping the image to 16:9? Has each shot been individually re-framed, or are entire episodes simply lopped off at the top and bottom?

Neither. The OP has already retracted his statement earlier in the thread. But, JOOC, has any care been taken with cropping the image to 16:9? Has each shot been individually re-framed, or are entire episodes simply lopped off at the top and bottom?
Oops, that slipped right by me.Neither. The OP has already retracted his statement earlier in the thread.
Another thought about the discs over Netflix, the older copies will end with the Paramount logo and music outro, Netflix gives us the CBS outro.
Bit like watching The Force Awakens and wondering where the Fox fanfare is.
Exactly. The shows I really care about, I have to own on DVD or Bluray. Not only could they be deleted from the catalog by a streaming service, they can be altered for various reasons without explanation or notice.
