Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

I hope they decide to make V'Ger from the Director's Cut of TMP & the Whale Probe from TVH too. All the big objects.
Me too, although IIRC, there was a concern about the V'Ger ship that, since it was only fully visible in the remastered DVD from a few years back, it wouldn't be recognizable by most people. The actual earth-originating Voyager-6 spacecraft would likely be more recognizable as being modeled after several actual historical vehicles.

But yes, I want one (both kinds, actually - three, if they include the "1 A.U. Cloud" version too)! :)

I know the Argo shuttle is planned for the next Shuttle collection, but do you think EM will ever produce the jeep? Would it be on a stand or actually "free rolling"? Or would it just stick out like a sore-thumb amongst all the other Starships?

As opposed to distant background kit-bashed garbage like the Yeager? ;)

I doubt it. We'll see the air tram from TMP before the Argo jeep.

I can understand that, but they did produce a Gorn Starship which was never seen in the original episode and only fleetingly in the remastered show.
V'Ger was a wonderful Syd Mead design which I would love a replica of.

Glad to see the D5 and Jenolan are finally confirmed on a list.

Unless I'm mistaken, I believe we've now covered every type of Klingon and Romulan craft seen in canon. (The Romulan science ship from "The Next Phase" was basically the scout ship with a different "head").

I'm still holding out for the Merchantman, the Groumall, and eventually Degra's ship.

Apart from things like cargo ships. And there's that Klingon shuttle Toron in TNG: Gambit. Can't say I'd want that though tbh!

The only Klingon cargo ship design I know of was in "Sons and Daughters" and that was a re-use of the Groumall. The shuttle in "Gambit", I believe was one of the many reuses of the Nenebek from "Final Mission".

Surprise! Surprise! My two binders I ordered last fall finally arrived! There was no shipping email so I was quite surprised to see the package on my porch. At first I thought it was the Jellyfish special that I was charged for two weeks ago but when I opened it there were my two original style binders! I guess there are still miracles in this world!! :bolian:

It seems the binders are in stock (at least showing as in stock) so I ordered 2 more. Let's see if it takes another 6 months to get these!

My Enterprise-A plaque just came in yesterday. I really do love these things.

Also just got charged $42.95 two days ago, so I'm hoping that the Jellyfish will finally arrive soon. I really hate how we're so far behind the main run in the UK. Even worse in Australia, IIRC. In this day and age of highly efficient international shipping capabilities, I'm really surprised we aren't closer together in the releases.

I'd bet it's because they send them by boat from the UK, and I'm sure Eaglemoss has selected the cheapest shipping option possible. Shipping from China direct to the US in the first place would be ideal, but their US operation seems pretty lean and probably not worth the additional expense when the only trade off is the subscribers just get things a couple of months late.

Yeah, you're probably right about that. Hopefully if their operation really starts expanding and building profits, they'll improve their shipping infrastructure in the future.

Has there been any chatter from Eaglemoss if we might see the TOS Planet Killer? If so do you have a link? Thanks.

I hope that is the last one they do--and except for a V'ger--the largest.

The Doomsday Machine looks more simple than it is. It may have been a wind-sock or some translucent tape--but the way it looked on screen--made it more than the sum of its parts.

To do a proper planet killer--I say you need a glass blower.

Get different colors of glass.

I just ordered the oversized 1701 and the 1701-A plaque. With their mini-sale, free shipping going on and applying the EAGLEMOSS30 coupon code it only came to $62. Just the 1701 with shipping would otherwise be over $80 so I feel like I got a good deal and the plaque for free. Only thing left to get right now is the Shuttle #2 set but I can get that at a later date or when a better coupon or sale is going on.

On a side note, has there been a release date announced for the Mirror Defiant?

Thanks for the coupon code, just snagged the second shuttle set.

I think the cheapest option would be to use a pearlescent, translucent finishing coat that catches the light and changes colour when viewed from different angles. Perhaps applied over a dark blue background.

I thought the actual model was a windsock dipped in cement.

Spinrad:...I said to Gene, “After I went through all the work on this, this is what you shoot? It looks like a wind sock dipped in cement.” Gene, having been a pilot, said to me, “That’s what it is, it’s a wind sock dipped in cement. We didn’t have any money for anything else.”

but it seems it was likely not:
