CBS/Paramount sues to stop Axanar

IIRC, Hatch was tutoring him on acting principles and techniques for his role as Garth. Don't know if it ever went beyond that in other involvements of the project.

The only "damning" thing I read was that T-Mac admitted to having threatened to perjure himself if he wasn't compensated for testimony.
He wanted money for telling the truth, then? Whaddaguy. Also, if you're reading this Terry; all this damning info you claim to have but you're just waiting for the right moment? Do think maybe the lawsuit was that "right moment"?

I really hope Axanar just leave Richard Hatch alone now, I would hate to think they'd attempt to rebrand 'Prelude' as 'featuring Richard Hatch in one of his last and favourite roles'.

'featuring Richard Hatch in one of his last and favourite roles'. Better not fucking say that with out providing a video clip of Hatch actually saying that. God I don't want to even think about something like that happening.

...Also, if you're reading this Terry; all this damning info you claim to have but you're just waiting for the right moment? Do think maybe the lawsuit was that "right moment"?...

It would be a decent moment any time now to release any specifics, if they exist, of money raised over and above 1.4 million -- existence of which Terry heavily hinted at.

It would have a motivating effect on class action and would set a framework within which to evaluate the "official" financial release.

If a few hundred thousand were clearly shown to be unaccounted for in Axanar's presentations to court or the public up to now, it would help people surface specifics of Axanar's apparent separation of crowdfunding money from all other incomes. It could lend perspective to Axanar's seeming attempts to present the Axanar budget as two different mini bank accounts inside the Axanar film, one of which is only accountable to store buyers and convention donors -- effectively, unaccountable to anyone.

If the evidence is actually there that hundreds of thousands more was raised and hasn't been made public at all, it should be made available if it is legal to do so. Otherwise Terry should stop hinting, as it is inappropriate to make such suggestions without proof. As I understand, this is what Mr. Hinman asked Terry to do.

'featuring Richard Hatch in one of his last and favourite roles'...

"... which we never produced because project executives desired salary, union dues, tires and gas expenses, many convention trips, phone expenses, hundreds of meals, and a studio for their own profit instead of just shooting the fraking *fan* film."

I think the thing is.. or at least what I've noticed when a person everyone knew passed this last year and am noticing now too... all roads lead to axanar. There will be a 'let's take a moment or so and remember'... and within -literally- the same posting, so probably within seconds while typing, it was related back to axanar. When new fan films are written about by my counterparts on thiswholething, within the same article on the great new fan films.... things also get related back to axanar and/or the defendant in one way or another. With this passing of our Richard Hatch, when I've read there is sadness or loss or mention of his life spoken to.... once again it gets related back to axanar. Now this terrific pic in the link may have been an innocent fan mash up artistically expressing himself.... though what is Bold in the pic 'is' the reference to axanar. With even Mr. Hatch's name's presentation playing the supporting second character. In a tribute (I'll assume) to the man. He worked on prelude and was to have worked on and did strongly support axanar, okay, well yes, sure he did and would. What I'm saying is I'm seeing in the expressions of his death a major imbalanced referencing Mr. Hatch to this production and defendant and a significant dearth of referencing the rest of his his life and body of work in which axanar was just a blip. Even if the movie had been made with him in it, this axanar thing is just the tiniest moment in his entire body of work... but in his death I'm seeing my counterparts are speaking not to his life itself and his life in the Business... "It is sad he's gone, he did this, that,... and/but".... and if's off on the road to axanar again.

Richard Hatch was so much more, had done so much more, was successful in so much more than this tiny fraction of a fraction blip in his life.. In his acting work, in his passions, his dreams. But I find in my counterparts' expressions on the passing of our Richard Hatch... all roads lead back to axanar.

I find this kind of thing small

Terry's sharing a bit more - this is nothing new, but helps shine some more light on LFIM's fuzzy math

(For those with Facebook who care to check it out, he goes into more detail here

"Here's a new graphic that breaks up donations in to their specific sources a bit more accurately -- the old grouping KICKSTARTER_DONORS is now broken out in to whether it was the PRELUDE or FEATURE fundraiser, for example. The retro packages have also been broken up to show whether they were for Prelude perks, feature perks, or the $10 level that grants access to the donor group.

I've also discovered that there are three spreadsheets full of donors that have yet to be imported in total -- the donor store purchases, a second spreadsheet with what appears to be PayPal (or other offline source) donors, and now a small spreadsheet with the Indiegogo donors that paid offline via installments. The latter isn't a huge list, so maybe $10k or so in total, but they'll be verified one by one and broken out in to a separate line item, too."

I'd like to think that once a truer accounting of all the donations, spending and such gets out, that might open a few more eyes...........(who am I kidding though?)

An independent inquiry into where the money went, that would be nice, but I agree, don't think it's gonna happen, meh

I'm only seeing about 1.47 million here. Terry was promising numbers much higher not long ago.

The way I look at it, they could be in a delicate place if any dark money surfaces.

Axanar has laid down a benchmark of what they said they had, and are trying to defend questionable uses of it. If it turns out at this late date that there is notable hidden money, it won't matter what they say. It will be too much. It will create a general emotional response among everyone that the whole project was lying about finances. If however their accounting was accurate, it accrues to their benefit. We will see.

I just want one NOT done by one of his BFFs.........who am I kidding now?

You never know, the IRS might become their BFF too. Certainly to start with there is this whole thing about Axanar saying all workers were 1099, when the IRS says S Corp executives who are compensated for nontrivial work are employees for the sake of withholding. Where there's phaser ash, etc.

According to that thread I referenced, this is before the donor store income is counted in

"Right now I can prove down to the penny $1.47 million and that's before I've finished loading in the spreadsheet that has a bunch of other 'off the books' donors, the newly rediscovered IGG installment plan donors (which isn't terribly much in the grand scheme), and then the donor store purchases... all up until April of 2016, that is. We'll also likely never know how much cash, as in legal tender bills, was handed over at each convention table, or any other possible ways that cash was donated yet may have been 'lost' in Alec's accounting nightmare.

EDIT: I suppose the only real way to try and work out how much cash may have been taken in, at least in part, would be to derive how many shirts were ordered, back off the number that have shipped due to on the books perks, and whatever remains can be multiplied by the sale price at the con tables, and work it backwards that way. Sadly we'd need to know how many Prelude patches were also ordered originally, back off the ones that were perks or that were sold in the donor store, and then multiply what remains by the sale price to arrive at a guess. But, that said, it'd only be a guess that surely could never be proven. I'm choosing to stick to what I can prove."
