I think I saw somewhere once that J.J. said that his movies were the only ones not to use numbers.
.
.
I really don't care much for J.J. Abrams.
How to get from the first to the last so quickly - is this a
non sequitur? Let us examine...
First part to second part (first half):
I think I saw somewhere once that J.J. said that his movies were the only ones not to use numbers.
Does he not know that "The Next Generation" movies also did not use the numbering system.
Okay, the notion of a numbering system is common to both. That shows some continuity of thought. (I'm pretty sure he's aware that the numbering system didn't figure in the TNG titles, though. Plus, there's the fact that his Trek movies have been at least unofficially numbered 1, 2, 3. So... where were we going with this? Oh, yeah... )
But then:
What an egotistical ass-head to claim that his films were the only ones not to use number.
Okay, still on the numbering idea, sort of, but at this point it really seems to be going off track.
Someone back me up if they've heard or read this somewhere before as well.
Wait, you didn't even bother to check it yourself? I don't know. But wait — let's see what comes next...
I really don't care much for J.J. Abrams.
Hum, we're at the end already. How disappointing. Why am I getting the impression that this was the message all along, and that the business about numbering films could just as easily have been about tribbles or sandwiches, for all the relevance it had to your concluding statement? You could have saved a lot of time (especially everyone else's) by simply writing "I don't like J.J." in your diary and calling it a day.
Oh, well. Since the topic, such as it is, has pretty much been exhausted, and since we're no closer now than we were at the beginning to learning the source of the supposed claim by J.J. Abrams about numbering his films... I guess it's thread closed.
