"Fury" is simply another episode in the main series featuring the return of an existing character after years of events we weren't witness to changing their mental state.

Exactly, we don't know what happened to her, or what she saw durring her time away from Voyager. It's entirely possible that she saw or experience things that changed her way of thinking.

A sick, morbid episode made by evil people in order to humiliate and destroy a beloved character and insult the fans of the character.
:barf:

Yea this conversation could be made about many of the time travel episodes. This episode "Fury" had some pretty blatant changes to historical events.
I think it's really sad because didn't that mean that Janeway and Kes (before she left the ship) would have known all along what was going to happen.

Good point. Kes knew too, she made the hologram to herself. Why leave when she knows she's not going to like what happens to her and come back anyway? All the more reason why I think the previous episodes were part of another timeline that was changed by episode "Fury".

^^
I'm actually understating the matter in my criticizm about this horrible excuse for a Star Trek episode.

Anyway, back to the original topic: The timeline wasn't affected at all during these events.

What happened was an attempt from some evil entities called the Producers who are almost as powerful as Q and more sinister and dangerous.

In an attempt to change the timeline and create a new universe, they used Suspiria in disguise tp pretend to be Kes and create havoc so the Voyager crew should start hating her. That was revenge from those evil entities because Kes accidentally coughed in the wrong tune a Friday morning on board Voyager in 2171, thus giving those entities headache.

Fortunately for Kes, the Voyager crew and the whole Universe, their attempt failed. In their attempts to change the timeline, they messed up a lot of things, including trying to make the events in the episode "Maneuvers" to occur between the events in "Caretaker" and "Parallax" and making the events in the episode "Investigations" take place before the events in the episode "Lifesigns" which of couse is totally impossible (check the official Stardates for those episodes!). Therefore their device for timeline changing couldn't take the strain. It finally burnt out and exploded, the which led to a tidal wave sending Producers to a very distant part of the universe from which they never returned and normal time was restored.

It becomes close to impossible to have an actually discussion when this is what we're met with for trying.
Ah, come on now!
You missed my splendid theory about the original topic. It was brilliant! :techman:

I just rewatched it and I thought it was ace. All that back and forth in time, Janeway and Tuvok suddenly remembering THIS WAS IT that moment from 6 years ago they had almost forgotten to watch for, the CAKE!

Oh and this scene:

NEELIX [OC]: Hello, Sweeting. I took the liberty of preparing one of your favourite meals. It's under replicator programme Neelix One. Call me if you'd like some company. Miss you.

Kes's face FILLS with disgust and she violently sweeps everything off the table smashing it all

Yes "sweeting" is BAAAAACK and she aint sweeting any more!

It's dementia.

In the end she has a period of clarity but god help the poor Ocampa by the time she gets back to them. All that rage will just have a new target, they kept her LOCKED UNDERGROUND!

I've said before that I saw it as some form of dimentia. Just as we saw in Before and After it seems to be normal in an older Ocampan

It kind of makes sense but I don't think she had a good time since she left voyager

KES: In three years, I'm going to leave Voyager in search of higher things because you encouraged me to do it. You encouraged me to develop my mental abilities. I wasn't ready for what I found. I couldn't control it. It scared me. I had nowhere to go. I thought of returning home to Ocampa, but I'd changed too much. I knew they'd be frightened of me. I knew they wouldn't accept me, but they'll accept her.

KES: The holo-recording. I remember making it. You asked me to help you, to help myself. You wanted me to remember who I was. These years were so filled with confusion and anger. I buried the memory. I'd almost forgotten.

JANEWAY: Don't you remember? You made that holo-recording because you didn't want this to happen again. Three years ago, you travelled back in time.

Why did they say it was 3 years ago when it was 5 years ago?

Because those who wrote the script for this pathetic excuse for a Star Trek episode were idiots.
What did they care about details when the only thing they were interested in was to destroy and humiliate the character and insult the fans of the character?

I honestly wish you would stop this. Hate the episide if you like but I wish you would stop these kind of comments about anyone who doesn't hate it as much as you do. To each their ownm some people like it and some don't.

This episode has some good elements to it. There's some humor with the cake, action, explosions, time travel. There are definately much worse episodes i think

It was about 3 years since she left Voyager to explore her abilities, not 5.

You should think a matter through, then decide if it deserves a shaming rant.

OK, I might have been wrong about the timeline and since I'm a nitpicker when it comes to flaws and mistakes in the timelines, I regret my error and withdraw my comment for this time.

But Berman and Braga deserves all shaming rants they can get for coming up with that horrible episode.

Or to make myself clear, I don't like the episode, I don't like Berman and I don't like Braga.

Humor?
My, oh my! I thought I was the one with the most twisted humor here. Obviously I've met my match.
