Sorry, it was just an analogy. I wasn't referring to the quality of any specific soundtrack, but the fact that this is the 3rd poll in 2 days time with the more popular soundtracks removed from contention, as they appear to sweep their respective polls. Sooner or later...

That was extremely hard. Only one forced me to leave out 4, 5 and 7. In the end I went with Jerry & Joel Goldsmith's unusually dark and moving score.

And to think Dennis McCarthy was so close to scoring it himself, but they held out that Jerry's schedule would free. And it did. I can't help but wonder what McCarthy would have done.

Its always so hard to pick a favorite when I love them all in their own way (except Nemesis). It depends on your mood. Lately, I cant seem to get Insurrection off of my ipod. Same goes for TMP. But I had to go for TSFS, the movie that got me hard-core into trek. Part of the reason was the music.

I think "The Final Frontier" score by Jerry Goldsmith is really...along with the performance of Lawrence Luckinbill, the highlight of the film.

Sure, the Special Effects really weren't that special, but Jerry's soaring score sure is. He makes you realize you are in the "Star Trek" universe and his theme for Kirk's earthbound exploits is quite inspirational.

First Contact's soundtrack is excellent. I'm also a big fan of the Kelvin Timeline film soundtracks, in particular Into Darkness. "Subprime Directive" and "London Calling" are memorable. "Enterprising Young Men" from ST09 is brilliant as well.
