Uniforms

There are either single color, they have changed the color assignments again, or they grabbed the wrong department insignia for the promo shot (Engineering on blue).
If they are going with beige operations division (as it was in the pilot), maybe the shoulder stripes are the division color?

Could just be a wardrobe test at this point (the pin I mean). The colour, quality and detail look fantastic though.

They could just be going with variations of the colors in "The Cage." There are three colors in "Where No Man Has Gone Before" - gold, tan and grey/blue - but were there two or three in "The Cage?"

Interesting how it actually has the break from the logo. TOS-esque ship insignias confirmed?

I wasn't crazy about the break for the logo; it's less appealing on an actual uniform. Here's hoping that's the biggest complaint I end up having about this show - the preview looks very good otherwise.

I suspect this is a dress uniform - similar to the real world dress/formals but... ARGH! Whatever it is, first glimpse and it looks really bloody good!

Not bad at all. I can definitely picture those coexisting with the various uniforms we have seen in the TOS era.

Just like the Klingons. TMP came out with what the Klingons really looked like all along ...

Not exactly. It came out with different Klingons with no explanation whatsoever, and Roddenberry handwaved it away by saying something like "imagine they were always this way." Interestingly, the exact Klingon head design we saw in TMP has never ever been repeated since then.

Or maybe the "missing link" between the Enterprise blue uniforms and The Cage jackets/uniforms.

Certainly seems to be this, for which I am very grateful for as a big ENT fan. Between this, and the various tidbits in Beyond, it's brilliant to see these little things connecting Enterprise to the franchise.

Love the uniform. I'd be surprised if it was a dress uniform as it would seem this was meant to be our supposed first look at the uniforms, but ya never know they might be trolling us...

Agreed.....or maybe a field/away team jacket......but mighty shiny for that. Probably dress uniform.

That's what I was thinking...but in the background on the clip with the slate there looks like someone on what looks like a bridge wearing the same thing, so maybe not.

I really like the design. Interesting take on 50-60's retro. Went ahead and made a quickdraw of how I feel it'll look fully. Stuck with the retro feel using the shorter boots and tucked pants and added the rank stripes. I suspect colored starfleet tank tops underneath the tunic and to be honest a retro looking starfleet hat could easily go along with this design. A good mix of utility and formal.
