As for last night's ep... I loved Alex's comment when she picked up the alien pistol.

"Ohhh, I call dibs!"

Yeah, loved the Thangarian Snare Beast reference and didn't realize Harley Quinn Smith was in this until reading above.

I think Mon-El is my spirit animal, lol, I love that guy and the way he glides through life.

I find James/Guardian really awkward. He's marginalized from Kara's personal life and work life for the great white hope to come in. I do think Kara and Mon-El have more chemistry (whereas he has decent chemistry with Winn) but he got rather shafted with the whole thing. They've given him this hero role but it all seems a bit superfluous. Is there to Katco at this point?

I was so happy to see them send in a squad to rescue Kara and not just Alex as I figured they would.

. heck if they got rid of James to bring back Cat I would love that.

James is a sound character, while Cat was just some endlessly bitter boss and a shoehorned "mentor" figure. The series has not lost a step without her.

That's the series PTB's combination BS of dropping the one character Kara had the most natural relationship with in favor of--as you put it--the great white hope, and bending to the torrential flood of hate of the James character having any romantic involvement with Kara. For this part of the fanbase (ever quick to hypocritically trumpet how liberal they are), they were rewarded with the typically CW type of character--hurting a once vital part of the series. Last night, I pointed out the telegraphing of James to fall, and the way they have pushed this most interesting character aside, I would not be surprised if he is killed off...and forgotten in the blink of an eye.

Agreed.

Considering the level of alien weaponry used, there's no realistic way Alex and other humans should be able to deal with / prepare for a conflict. They should be completely overwhelmed...but...

SG-1 never had that problem, I see no reason why DEO-1 should.
Heck, Picard can even make Swiss cheese out of the Borg with a holographic machine gun ;)

I wonder if she'll start calling the gun Winona :D

The stuff on Slaver's Moon was pretty cool, although the inclusion of Roulette seemed kind of unnecessary. Kara's comment about the Dominator was funny.
Winn's story was pretty good, it was nice to see him deal with some real challenges with the transition from being at a desk to actually being in the field. The whole "I'm not a red shirt" joke cracked me up.
I'm not real sure why Kara still has such a problem with Guardian, at this point I would think he'd have proven that he's a good guy.
I really like what they are doing with Mon-El, and I look forward to his becoming a superhero. It's definitely looking to me like Mon-El is the prince he keeps talking about.
I like that Maggie actually figured out Supergirl was Kara just from Alex's behavior.

I'm wondering if they'll increase Mon-El's power levels closer to the "near Kryptonian" levels Daxamites have in the comics. I still get the sense that he'll be shipped off to the future (and Legion membership) shortly after he gets his superhero identity going.

The Dominators accidentally give Car teleporting powers whenever he snaps his fingers.

Bitter writers angry with modern attempts to modernize comics rolled that back by baddies lopping both of Snapper's hands off at the wrist.

Truthfully, methinks that in the 1960s Snapper Carr kept snapping his fingers, to stop himself from reaching for a cigarette, because of an oral fixation he was trying to reprogram.

Yeah, I've been wondering how long he'll stick around. Once he's a full fledged superhero I wouldn't be surprised if they send him off, either to the future to join the Legion, or whoever that is that's after him will somehow lead to him going off on his own.

I just had to google that because I just couldn't believe it. Comic books are nuts.
