The CW renews: The Flash, Arrow, Supergirl, Legends, Supernatural

I'm pretty sure the time lords already gave them a new batch of regenerations. The only question is whether or not season 25 will have Dean Winchester played by a female.
I am kinda surprised they haven't gone to this trope yet.
11 seasons and there never was a body swap episode with Dean in a woman's body. Or was there?

This also means a bigger heads up for them to write another fourway crossover (fiveway including Constantine?), hopefully with Supergirl and her supporting cast more fully involved and no Oilver sending Kara to the 'naughty corner'. What's interesting to note is what isn't happening:

I for one would love to see more CW Superman, maybe even an Earth-1 Superman. I'd certainly like to see him as a guest star.

I don't feel any great need for a Superman series -- he's had more episodic TV (and radio) adventures than any other superhero and I don't really need more of the same. It might be interesting if they embraced the fact that this is an older, more veteran Superman who's already gone through most of his standard story threads (Lex is put away, James and Cat have moved on, he's with Lois and she knows his identity), but what we've seen suggests that they're just sticking with a pretty standard version despite that (Clark is still a field reporter cowed by Perry White, instead of, say, the Planet's news editor or something). I would definitely like to see more of Hoechlin's Superman as a guest on Supergirl, but I don't need another weekly Superman show. Although I'd be okay with an animated CW Seed miniseries.

I don't want to see any flashforwards. I may be at the Legends episode of Arrow, but I know who the Grave was for and I don't know if I can deal with speculation every week about how we get to a certain point. I do like the idea of Curtis getting some flashbacks though, as I am currently (Again, currently being 2 years behind) enjoying his chemistry with Felicity but I don't want the flash forwards being an end point that the season has to get to.
"And for the b-plots we've secretly have been testing the flashsideways technique since the series began. This allows us to show what is happening to other characters in the present with events happening as the same time as those happening with Oliver. For example, we might flash to Damian Darhk making evil plans and then we flash over to see Arrow and Co. deal with the threat. It's very exciting."

Reading the interview it seems as if the article may be reading more into an off-handed comment about flashforwards than was intended. I think it would be good if they don't feel compelled to add flashbacks just to add flashbacks and can reserve the tool to where it makes more sense.

I get the impression from the article that they're not even planning on him coming back as a guest star. Now that they've got nine or ten months before the next fourway crossover 'lenses' (assuming it's episode 8 or 9 of the season like the last three years) I'm sure they could work him in. Or have him appear on Supergirl, or the three Earth-1 shows.

That would indeed be great to see an older and wiser Superman

What the network president said was simply that there are no current plans in the works for his return. That doesn't rule out future plans.

Very happy to hear about the Arrowverse and Supernatural renewals, I'm a big fan of all of them.
I hadn't read that article about Arrow expanding it's flashbacks to cover more characters. I've always been disappointed we didn't get more characters' flashbacks more often.

they could save a ton of money if they just kept going on with the flashbacks and just used season 1 material.
You gotta love a good clip show.

What's amusing is that Arrow's last episode before the hiatus actually did flash back to a previously unseen incident set during the first season. So they've already kind of shown what that would be like. I doubt they'll make a habit of it, though.

Well, Supernatural is one step closer to their 300 episode goal. After next season, they just need a 14th Season of 12 or 13 episodes to complete that milestone.

I'm totally fine with Superman just showing up on Supergirl occaisionally an a crossover here and there.... but if they did go ahead with a "different" take on a Sperman show, lining it up with the Rebirth "Superdad" stuff wouldn't be a bad place to start.

^^
Arrowverse as a whole will hit 300 episodes next year.
Lets see:
Arrow 5 * 23 = 115
Flash 3 * 23 = 69 (69 dude ;))
Supergirl (1 * 20) + (1 * 22) = 42
DC's Legends of Tomorrow (1 * 16) + (1 * 20) = 36
Constantine 1 * 13 = 13
Total = 275
Yep you're absolutely right, though I'm not sure exactly how many episodes of Supergirl & DC's Legends of Tomorrow have been ordered this season by the CW so the total may be a little different :techman:.

Legends will have 17 episodes this season.

Except Barry did the Flashpoint, so they have to reshoot everything to show how things have slightly changed because of it ;)
