Gee and here I thought the Donor store closed and Alec and Axanar out of money:

Yep - IDK how CBS/Paramount got Judge Klausner to agree Axanar was a commercial venture...oh, wait. As for this being a 'Hobby' for Alec Peters - wow, I wish I made money from my Hobbies as most of mine COST money. ;)

Now that the holidays are over, how can I flush more cash down the toilet?

Though, honestly, who would order these? Have they not learned from the whole perk mess that it could be years or never before they'd get the t-shirt?

Way to go on the non-commercial claim by, oh, I dunno, using sales@axa ... etc. as your email address (which I know Tampaxanar did not have to change for the parody).

I've been reviewing Ninth Circuit rulings in copyright cases for the past couple of years, and I haven't found a scenario where the court has overturned a jury verdict for the plaintiff. When the Ninth Circuit does reverse, it's usually on a dismissal or summary judgment in favor of the defendant. Indeed, I don't even think the Ninth Circuit will bother with oral argument in this case. I would expect an unpublished order affirming the verdict.
"Nah. We're good."

IT IS AFFIRMED.

The offical Axanar twitter page, incriminatingly entitled @StarTrekAxanar, has been very busy just lately forwarding on messages from supporters the content of which you can probably guess. What I like about this is that it's more predictable than the tide. Things going bad? Then kick off on social media!

Truly, Axanar when the walls fell.

I came back here to check on the project after hearing about the fair use judgement and I take it that the entire community has turned on Axanar at this point?

Here's the reaction from LFIM, himself via FB: The ruling this past week means we now have an appeal to the Ninth Circuit on Fair Use, which could take two years to get through. We know for a fact CBS doesn't want a trial based on their asking for the minimum damages award in order to avoid a trial. And I am pretty sure they don't want this dragging out two more years, which is the most likely outcome now.
To answer firehawk12's question; you're kidding, right?
