Spoilers The 100 - Season 4

dahj

Vice Admiral
Admiral
The show returns on February 1st.

EDIT: removed dead video link

Seems like things are starting to look up in the post apocalyptic future and we'll get a season where nothing bad happens and the survivors start working together with the Grounders to establish a safe and stable community, a better future for all and I couldn't finish that sentence with a straight face... death, destruction, horrors and conflict aplenty!

Octavia seems to be in kickass mode, Jasper is finally chill again, but Monty is now pissed, Raven's in trouble again, there's a possible new Heda there, also Pyramids get blown up and everybody dies.

Should be fun :techman:

I kind of get the impression they'll be spending at least the first part of the season trying outrun the effects of the.... was it nuclear plants or bombs?... going off. It'll be cool to get to see a bit more of the world.

Yeah, the implication was that most if not all of the nuclear power plants were going to meltdown very, very soon without the AI keeping them in check, if I recall correctly.

Which seems kind of weird as I'm sure most modern ones (ie, ones that would have an immediate affect in that region of the world) have numerous safeties in place to prevent that in case of catastrophic failure. And even then, even older ones have safeguards in place that prevent a meltdown that would affect a noteworthy area outside of the plant itself.

But, sci-fi. "The AI turned all those safeguards off as a safeguard for herself!" Yeah, that's the ticket. XD

She must have been using the power for a "project".

Probably reclaiming and purifying the earth, which is why stuff is better than expected from what the Ark thought that the Ground would be like.

Actually, the nuclear power plants started breaking down due to damage from the bombs and ALIE couldn't do anything about them, so that's why she started the whole project to download everybody in an attempt to "save" the human race, which she took a bit... digitally.

An extended trailer(that's 2 minutes shorter than the last one, words mean things people, c'mon!):

That felt like an episode that's more of a coda for last season than a beginning of a new one.
Most of the time was spent establishing the new status quo, don't know why they even bother when it changes twice each episode of of this show.

Octavia kicked some serious ass, Jasper's reaction to armageddon was priceless and some pyramids blew up. I'd say The 100 is back, but the episode ended on an upbeat note and that's just weird... :D

Yeah, this was surprisingly quite for a big premiere.
That said, I did enjoy it.
I was surprised so much of it focused on the conflict with Azgeda.
I had forgotten a lot of what happened last season, so I was surprised Echo was so hostile with everyone else.

I think The 100 has seen better days. It's still good, but ever since they killed off Lexa in the manner they did, my interest has been waning a bit. The 4th season premier didn't help getting the ole fanboy juices flowing either. It was boring and repetitive as far as the series as a whole goes, almost like a filler episode. I hope it gets better. The 100 was one of the best shows on TV it's first couple of seasons.

So that was better than the premiere, it was full of impossible decisions with no right or wrong answer which is one of the things I like about The 100 the most, and it was full of callbacks to previous seasons, particularly the similarities to the situation in season 1 which was poignant.

The politics I could do without, I hope the power struggle for the leader of the coalition won't be an ongoing thing, there was too much of it in both Polis and Arkadia last season, there's really no need for a retread.

What magic are they going to pull out of their hats to save everyone from the radiation?

When someone said "There's no magic button to stop this!" I was thinking "Maybe there's some lever Clarke can switch?" :D

My guess is, either they'll find some secret bunker designed to protect people from radiation, like an underground city or something....

...Or they'll end up going back into space. And for added irony, only 100 of them can survive in space.

So much for the bunker ;)

Looks like it's gonna have to be Science! to the rescue, they have to figure out how to turn everyone into the Natblida, which is surely gonna make choosing the next Heda all the more difficult...

So... they did another 180 on the good ole' war/no war wheel.
Wonder if they'll do another one next week...

Octavia just needs some penicillin tea and she'll be fine in no time, right?
(though this was perhaps more of an Aragorn than Oliver Queen situation) ;)
