Spoilers Supergirl - Season 2

One thing I'm surprised about is that none of the CW DC comics shows have introduced a 'Green Lantern' yet; even though I bel;ieve in Flash Season one Flash was training on a run down Ferris aircraft facility.

Green Lantern would use a lot of expensive CGI. They may not think it's worth it.

Legends needs to at least use Alan Scott with the JSA.

Supergirl would definitely be the show to use a GL. Characterwise, Hal/Barry/Oliver should have been the goal, but Supergirl has aliens and the DEA firmly as part of its mythology. A stray GL here and there would make perfect sense.

Didn't we see a guy in a bar with "Jordan" on the back of his jacket? I think it was in an episode of Arrow during one of the flashback scenes.

There was also a reference to a Ferris pilot disappearing.

Apparently Arrow and Flash are filled with easter eggs like that. A Google seach might reveal more.

As for actually including Green Lantern, a lot of fans wanted it to be revealed that John Diggle was John Stewart.

Not really, as the reason it's demeaning to Diggle's character is because it suggests/intimates/implies that the only worth said character has is if he's really a completely different character entirely.

Well, it is demeaning to both characters, in that the only thing these characters had in common was their first names, their skin color and a military background. That's quite a reduction for a character with such a rich history and distinct personality as John Stewart.

I am not familiar enough with John Stewart, but couldn't that also have simply been the wish for an opportunity her to reconcile a new character with a preexisting one because the backstories do not contradict each other (that much) and it could theoretically be done?
Hell, we have precedent for timeline shenanigans explaining away any perceived contradictions anyway.
It would only take one more trip of Barry or Sarah Lance into the past for Diggle suddenly to go by his mothers name Stewart...

This is the first I've heard of this theory, but Diggle is now a character in the comics as well, so to retroactively Stewart him now would make even less sense.

There seem to be quite a few fans who like to think like that. I remember, when SV started out, there were some fans who seriously wanted Chloe to turn out to really be Lois Lane.

Well, in theory, yes, but for several reasons, of which @green dodge gave one, it makes even less sense now than it did when "Arrow" started.

Pretty sure we did see that in one of the Arrow episodes, though I can't remember which one off the top of my head.

Honestly, I never understood the appeal of the Green Lanterns. The rings are absolutely ridiculous, and just calling them "the most powerful weapons in the universe" doesn't actually make them so (especially when everyone and everything seems to be able to destroy the constructs).

Not to mention the havoc a yellow raincoat can cause. ;)
