Series 10 trailer

I actually found the trailer rather underwhelming. There's just nothing there that interests me too much.

Of course, the key point in Destiny is that they don't actually fight... But there could still be 'small' planet-wide conflicts on the ground.

Maybe the whole thing with Movellans is Missy's "Great idea". They're one of the only aliens we see that really could hold their own against the Daleks (causing them to revive Davros not once but twice) along with the Time Lords and the Thals.

I'm just not getting the same vibes of excitement that I used to from Doctor Who and trailers for it any more. It's all a bit stale at the moment. Hopefully the rumours of a major shake up 2018 are correct. Moffat ear is done for me.

I'm at that point as well. Although, I can see that I'd be able to get back in the old groove pretty easily if there are good stories in series 10!

I'm looking forward to the big shakeup.

Big Finish seems to be releasing a Movellan story (with Tom Baker) as well in July. Maybe a bit of a tie-in there.

Probably not. Doctor Who doesn't do "transmedia" the way other franchises do these days, and regardless Moffat doesn't share his scripts or plans with Big Finish.

It seems they have been a bit more new series friendly these days though, with the UNIT/Torchwood/Time War/Tennant series, and also the cross-monster stuff they're now doing (Pitting older Doctors against the Judoon, Weeping Angels etc.

I've been wrong about characters in Doctor Who before, but from the looks of it, Bill seems bloody appalling. Refreshed my memory by watching this again but it's no better.

Another key fact is that their license does not allow them to touch anything from the Peter Capaldi era. Seriously, the contract specifies they can't touch anything after Time of the Doctor. That definitely rules out any tie-ins with this season.
Looks like we're revisiting The Water of Mars
Why do you say that?

That was the first thought that popped into my mind when I saw the the first scream in the trailer. The screaming lady was drenched and had rivulets of water running down her face.
It's going to take a lot more than a woman screaming while drenched wet to convince me there's a connection to Waters of Mars. Besides, she lacked the Ice Warrior-like skin mottling the "possessed" in Waters of Mars had.

I am not enthused by the trailer. I have not been happy with the last few seasons of Doctor Who. When I heard the word "Daleks", I was, like, why? This enemy is played out.

On a positive note, the actor, who is playing Doctor Who, is having fun with the role and his joy "brightens" the scenes he is in.
