Star Trek Merchandise and Memorabilia Thread

Alrighty then.

Saw this thread and went around to see what I have that I could show everyone, I have come to a realization: I have way too much stuff. To compound the problem, I may be to old now to actually be hanging onto most of this.

Some of this goes back to 1967 and as some is as recent as 2016. Is this normal? I do not consider myself a collector; rather, there are a lot of books read over the years, a lot of models built (destroyed, dropped and/or otherwise busted and rebuilt) and things that were on walls, then went into storage and have now made themselves visible once again due to moving to a new house with a large unfinished basement.

In any event, I will leave it up to you to let me know if I am nuts, or what.

So we have a few posters - 1 though 5

TS02.jpg

And 6 through 9.I have the other 3; however, have not had them mounted.

TS03.jpg

There be ships here.

TS04.jpg

And some more.

TS05.jpg

Oh yeah, models too. Last count: 28. Missing K-7. 4 kitbashed, bottom row. 3 unpainted.

TS06.jpg

And I have pocket book, Lord, how I have pocketbooks.

TS07.jpg

Hard cover books. And plans, And manuals. And a bridge model. And Sirius radio (but that's neither here nor there).

TS08.jpg

More books. Stamps (Canadian, 'natch). A coin (see previous remark). And JJ's E.

TS09.jpg

Bat'leth made for my as a Christmas gift by my brother-in-law. R2D2 & C-3PO date back to February of 1978. Anyone care to guess my age? Sorry, no prizes.

TS10.jpg

Lastly, a collection of various weapons and devices. 4 paintings done for me by my father-in-law. Moon globe dates back to 1966 - a National Geographic giveaway. Major Matt Mason. Lego F1 car. Beatles & Trek glasses. Magic 8 ball!! (not shown - Slinky, silly putty and that Newtonian swinging ball thing). MINIONS!!!!

Also not shown are 24 Hallmark ship ornaments. They are in storage as all wires have been cut and plans have been designed to create a 36" x 22" combadge wall mounting on which they will hang. So much to do, so little time. (Insert your old age jokes here.)

That's the lot of it. Can't seem to part with any of it. It will probably have to be removed and disposed of when they put us in a retirement community.Who knows when that will be?

Ron
I will be showing this to my wife so she feels better about our house
Seriously though, that is a hell of a collection. I'm excited just looking at the photos!

So one thing my wife and I have done is go to a lot of conventions. I haven't been to one for a while now (2012) but back in the day, we'd always go.

I've shared this before, but this is one of my favorite items:

Not the best picture, but still....8 of the 9 original cast, all signed in person!

See, now, this is truly a valuable collectible item.

That is wonderful! You're so lucky to have met Leonard and got a picture with him and Shatner.

On a similar note, this is one of my most treasured moments:

My girlfriend made our uniforms by hand (save for the Starfleet patch). Those are prized items in my collection too.

Hey, who's the dweeb in the middle???

But an ornament of the Salt Vampire attempting to eat Kirk?!?!??! :ack:

At once both the hokiest, and most nightmare-inducing scene, from the most nightmare-inducing (as well as being as hokey as anything from the third season) episode? Who would want to hang THAT on a CHRISTMAS TREE???!

I saw Spock's death from TWOK as an ornament in the store as well. A dying Vulcan on your tree. Kinda takes the emotion right out of the scene...

If it's just for illustration, it's okay.

We just don't want people trying to sell their own stuff to board members. No soliciting.

Can't resist sharing this: the PHANTASM killer sphere ornament!

Makes the Salt Vampire seem positively festive by comparison! :)
Great gobs of gooseflesh! What's next? a "Lament Configuration" Christmas tree ornament? . . . Oh, Hellraiser*, it's already been done!

But I still see nothing appropriate to Christmas about a nightmarish, yet hokey, lifeform that continues to attempt to eat other sentients even knowing full well that the proverbial jig is up. And I'm not sure I want to know what happens when you push the button.

*No, I haven't actually seen more than just ads for any of the Phantasm or Hellraiser movies. I frequently find myself alluding to movies I've never actually seen. I do it a lot with Fight Club ("The first rule of edible printing is that you don't run anything but edible ink in that printer. The second rule of edible printing is that you do NOT run anything but edible ink in that printer. And you still don't talk about Fight Club.")

^ Wondering now if there are Fight Club ornaments . . ..
There probably are (I find myself thinking about a joke from History of the World, Part I, from Comicus's stand-up routine). And they're probably either shaped like bars of soap, or made out of them, or both. But those who have them don't talk about them.

Shatner. I'd fight William Shatner.
