Voyager, sorry.... what ? moments.

But wouldn't Vulcans have the same kind of feelings about humans? They have half of our lifespan, they can never truly understand us?
Agreed and it seems that they do. It's been shown that Vulcans mostly are not big fans of humans. This is clearly shown in Enterprise. Vulcans look down on humans

Yet they still built a relationship and work together. I'm sure there are Vulcan counselors on primarily human ships and vice versa. Kes might have worked better if there had been a small Ocampa community living on Voyager. Someone that worked as a bridge between two distinct peoples with distinct biological and cultural ways of life.

Both of you need to chill. Perhaps ignore needs to be utilized.

Kes vs Seven pissing matches are always so much fun... and this isn't the thread for that anyway.

Let's get back on the topic of WTF?!

I'm fairly new... I had no idea Kes v Seven pissing matches were common place.

I could never see her as an advisor. Personally I would never go to someone less than five years old for advice on anything.

But I think the concept of her powers expanding and it aging her is interesting. That could have brought some interesting drama. Perhaps some scenes where it would have been increidbly helpful to the ship for her to use a big blast of her power but it would take a year of her life or something.
I think that you are looking to much at numbers here.

Kes is actually equivalent to a human between 20 and 30. With her understanding and compassion she would be an excellent counselor.

And I don't like the idea of expanding powers. That will lead up to "super being solutions" to all problems which would ruin good stories about humans and other Alpha Quadrant species with limited powers overcoming difficulties. The limited powers she had in seasons 1-3 were good enough.

Besides that, Voyager's biggest flaw was the "technobabble quick fix" solutions and the Borg knowledge overkill in later seasons.

And he suggesting about her losing a year of her life for every time she used those powers? How depressing!

Warlord seemed to be a last ditch effort to me, to put the character in some different situations and make her more interesting and multi-dimensonal. And If I had to make a list of my 5 east favorite episodes, 'Warlord' would be on it. The episode was a train wreck due to Kes.
I have to agree. I think the idea of someone passing on their mind like that was interesting but I think it was too much for Lien to handle. I think she was far more suited to calm quiet scenes. Showing emotion or intensity was never her strong suite in my opinion.

Another WTF moment for me was Prototype. I enjoy it because it is a B'Elanna episode and the overall plot is interesting, but man those robots are so cheesy.

I wonder why Janeway has never thought of offering to Seven of Nine, a more intimate environment in Cargo Bay 2 or in one of upper decks, where the young woman can "rest" and work peacefully when she doesn't regenerate. Everybody has the right to have a little of intimacy, right?!

I assumed she did and 7 turned it down

That's what I thought as well. And if you recall it, the original Battlestar Galactica (from the seventies) did a better job on robots than Prototype did.

The robots in prototype just did not work for me. It made no sense, and it gave no information about the aliens who made them. Just blank.

WTF aliens? "We want these robots to roughly resemble a bad Halloween costume with upholstery for clothes."

I always wondered who had final say in what they looked like. Is it the director? I would hope that Johnathan Frakes would have had better looking robots.

One more WTF moment...

At the end of Twisted Harry says their database was uploaded and a bunch of information was downloaded. So what was downloaded?

they've had this happen twice. So it made me wonder either they didn't research or those were the terms in the 90s before settling into what they are today.

I'd imagine they did it on purpose to make that thing seem creepy. It did seem like something from one of those slasher movies at times when it was alone with B'Elanna.

If anyone was great in quiet and emotional scenes it was Lien. She was brilliant in those, much better than both Dawson and Ryan.

For me Tattoo was a sorry what episode, really most of Chakotay's tribe stuff was. It was just so all over the place
We never saw a so deeply religious person before and you couldn't make heads or tails out of what he beliefs half the time
