There is so much about STAR TREK: The Next Generation still, as yet, to be discovered. Somtimes, it's almost overwhelming ... but I'm ready to learn!

Nella Darren easily. She wasn't too much younger than Picard to make it look unrealistic, but she also had a little fire in her, which I think made her more interesting to the audience, and to Picard. I can totally see Picard settling down with her.

Vash was always scheming and I can't see someone like Picard, who doesn't suffer fools, falling for her. In her introductory episode, we see Picard taking no guff from the Ferengi but then later on acting so smitten with someone who's just as morally corrupt as the bad guy.

Bevery Crusher was too much a friend. Kamala and him had great chemistry but I would like to think that someone as morally upright as Picard could never actually continue a relationship with someone who lives to please someone else. She didn't have her own mind. The thing with Anij felt forced.

My pick goes to toward, Nella Darren. They seemed a perfect fit for one another. Their chemistry between them was great in terms of their personality. She has multiple sides that I enjoyed from her character. She was professional, talented, caring, brave, and resourceful. All around my favorite pick for Picard.

I am a massive fan of both Vash and Crusher, but Vash too me seemed like too much trouble. I don't mind her unpredictable and risk taking behavior. I couldn't see myself or Picard in a long term relationship if had to worry about her all the time or get her out of trouble. Crusher is sexy, but too boring.

I can't help but think of what a smokin' hotty Jenice Manheim was, when her rose was in bloom and say to myself ... Picard's letting this one go was a mistake. She's become my favourite, especially in recent times and I'm particularly fond of "We'll Always Have Paris." I only wish that she didn't keep dressing like she was in her twenties, by the time we meet her. Otherwise, very classy, very eloquent and obviously beautiful. She must've been quite a gal. It's no wonder that Bev was so jealous, when Jenice came aboard.

I voted for Phillipa Louvois, they had great chemistry. Their relationship seemed to be a bit antagonistic but that made it more interesting.

Nella Daren and she was even a little too good in that I didn't buy their break up which was necessary since it's an episodic show and she had to be gone next episode. I think they would have tried to work something out especially since we know Picard wishes he had more of a family life. I think he had a wife in the Nexus.

I didn't quite buy their break up either, but I especially didn't buy that Starfleet captains are allowed to have romantic relationships with the crew. Look what happens in one instance: it almost affects Picard's judgment, and leads to Nella feeling forced to leave her assignment to go to some other starship. Problems galore.

I think they could have done the episode without it leading to romance right away, and when it gets too close, like they're about to kiss, Picard ends it before it gets a chance to get started. He's willing to sacrifice his own happiness in order to adhere to his integrity and the rules of Starfleet.

Vash was most fun. And you know they must have had a few more sexy adventures together after her return from the Gamma.

Vash made Picard feel young ... as when the world was new. She changed his entire outlook - she really did it. She stirred to life, inside of him, reminders of a past decade, when he was Hell-bent for leather. Back when a Human heart still beat in his chest. Before that, and becoming humbled by old age pushed him into Stuffy Brit mode. Tea Time and etiquette is nice and all, but ... where is the passion in that? Something more is needed to make Picard a complete person ... to make him a Man. That's where Vash did the most good, I feel. She brought out the Man in Picard that duty and obligation rendered inert. Through Vash, he felt invigorated ... rejuvenated ... refreshed and revived. She wasn't just a momentary distraction designed to take the edge off Picard's busy day - no! - in many ways, Vash was his Muse.

I do have to wonder, though: with Riker as the resident studd, would anyone have noticed if Picard didn't Get the Girlâ„¢, on occasion? Or, indeed, if he never got laid, at all? Sir Patrick Stewart liked the idea of Jean-Luc having a Frenchman's libido, but was it necessary to the show? I suspect that it wasn't. And there was plenty for Stewart to involve himself in, without having a love interest. I doubt the target audience of TNG was all that keen to see him getting it on with anybody, anyway.

There is no suggestion in canon Starfleet captains are to remain monks for the remainder of a five year voyage. Its not practical, realistic plus basing Starfleet completely on real life human cultural mores would not be acceptable to the other species in the Federation. E.G A Vulcan male would have his mate with him/her at least for such a long voyage, just in case the 7 year itch flares up. In canon and the novels Captain Riker and Troi are married, in the novels Picard marries Crusher and has a baby.
I like Picard with Vash, she made him less boring, Crusher is the safe choice. Probably the reason they got divorced in one timeline lol
