Or we could just grow up. Harm can take all different kinds of forms and expecting the law to be a substitute for paying attention to what goes on around you is a non-starter.

Are these laws going to stop someone that is sick or violent from attacking others? I don't think so. Then comes how do you even enforce these laws? Do you have a package inspector that stands outside the ladies room of your local Target? Checking genitals for admittance?

By the time that you know someone has violated the law, it would be too late. HB2 and other laws like it will make no difference. It is a security blanket for folks who are scared of people different than themselves.
Like it or not, there will people who will attack a transgender for being just that. If I saw it happen, I'd do my best to aid the transgender person. However, the odds of me being in the area when it happens are low. As a result, that's why I support unisex bathrooms for multiple people.

There are differences between black people and white people as well, that doesn't make it a sensible argument for segregation, nor does your appeal to tradition, which is rarely a good reason for doing anything.
Race and anatomy are two different things.

Considering the guy has spent the last few pages telling us how men being in the same bathroom as women is a dangerous situation that perpetuates crime and ignores the need for women's privacy, unisex bathrooms seems like an odd suggestion.
I said some men could be an issue for women in a women's restroom. Some may not do anything actually wrong. However, every woman I know wouldn't want a man in the bathroom with her and the same applies to every man I in regards to women being in there. So I think that is protecting women's privacy. Also, I don't see what is bad about my unisex bathrooms suggestion, it could prevent potential violence against transgenders.

I didn't say it was a bad suggestion, I said it was odd, coming from you.

Race and anatomy are two different things.

So?

1. Not good enough. If you're going to enact a law (ZOMG, REGULATIONS!), you need to have a compelling reason for the state to act. You need to be solving an actual problem. You feeling weird about something that isn't actually harming you doesn't cut it. Because you're not solving a problem, you're just shoving YOUR awkwardness on to someone else, who may not feel safe in whatever bathroom you deem appropriate for them.

2. You seem to have trouble reading between the lines, so let me spell it out to you: when i said you should "feel embarassed" I was telling you that you said something asinine. What you said wasn't just ignorant, or even groundless, it was nonsensical.

3. And this, this little plea of yours...do you have ANY sense of irony? I can't tell you how you should feel, but you can tell other people how they should feel and where they should go?

4. My last apartment only had one bathroom. Whatever differences between my fiance and me, and the guests we had over, didn't seem insurmountable.
1. I have posted reports of cases involving men going into bathrooms and committing crimes. Also, every woman I know does not a man in there with them and every woman I know said the same thing, only in regards to women. I think that's good reason.
2. So an opposing view to your's is "nonsensical"?
3. Somebody brings up a topic and I give my views on it. People challenge my views, I defend them. I'm not forcing anybody to change their views to mine.
4. But were you in the bathroom while she was or vice versa?

A white male and black male have the same anatomy and should be in the same bathroom since it would provide the same accommodations. A white female and a white male have different anatomy and should go the restrooms that accommodate them and are designated for them.

But men's rooms already have facilities that women could use, anatomically speaking, which is what you predicated your argument on.

Also, there's the privacy factor. All women I know don't want men in there while they're in the bathroom, the same goes for men I know, only in regards to women being in there.

As for there being the same equipment in both restrooms, men can go into their's and women can into their's, since it is the same equipment. So really, privacy is a larger factor.

Ahh, OK so it's NOT an anatomical issue then or about the differences between men and women. Sorry I was confused because you said it WAS an anatomical issue and about the differences between men and women. My mistake.

No, I said privacy is the larger issue. Different anatomies also play a part. After all, men and women have separate bathrooms for a reason.
