If you don't want to defend your position then leave. We aren't going to hold your hand and treat you like a special snowflake for having a belief. If you make a claim, you have to defend it.
Special snowflake - it seems only some of us may use trite condescending insults. You know nothing about me or my life - mostly because I don't wear it on my sleeve (unlike some) - so don't pretend to know anything about me.

You're just looking for a fight that I won't give you. I now return you back to your regularly scheduled hissy fit.

My plan is, without exaggeration, $1000 cheaper per MONTH now for me and my family than it was before the ACA was enacted. The difference would have been far more by now than if nothing had been done. I got to keep all my doctors. Copays are less. Deductible is $0. Silver plan.
A lot of people are not experiencing that.

They could certainly use that loophole, but you would have to have someone you trust to forward it back to Mexico from that other country.

If they pass such a law will they also close the loopholes for companies that earn money in the USA but legally send it overseas or register overseas for tax evations purposes?

Star Trek Discovery should have a lot more to talk about now.
They will call the early 21st century the Second Dark Ages when religious and political extremism held sway

Just treating you the way you treated me.

Enough to elect Trump into office
Purporting and proving are two entirely different things. Donald purported, but never showed the evidence. If I say "many people" but never cite sources or show data, how do you know it's correct? Has Obama stolen our guns? Because many people say he will. They have been for 8 years.

I have come to learn from reading comments that talking to the right is a Sisyphean task. One of the basic issues is where we get our news. The left have their sources and their right have their sources. Certain facts are agreed upon - we live in the United States, for example; however, how they process and interpret events is rarely in agreement. I have attempted on many occassions to read or hear their point-of-view. Their reasoned arguments degenerate into ugly attacks on the left. (Probably, they feel this way about the left, which partly explains why they do not read or hear the left's media and base their reactions to our media on second-hand accounts.)

This isn't really true to this thread. Emotionally charged insults towards Trump supporters, including implying that they're all racist etc.., or that this is what people were voting for when they chose him, is the most prolific ugly insult that I can see.

The Republicans are going to misinterpret the results of this election, believing that the country is heading their way and that the majority of Americans are behind them.
"They" (the Republicans in general) won rather a lot in the last four federal elections. But yes, I believe Mr. Trump may totally understand his mandate. Mr. Obama didn't understand his, either.

I learned recently that when Lincoln was visiting an army hospital in April '65, he went to every man in the hospital - Union and Conferederate alike, over 1000 in total - and spoke with each one of them. I can not see any Republican leader doing this - far too many lack empathy or even sympathy for their common man.
I believe Mr. Bush (W) visited the troops rather often. I think he still does.

For the record, the Republicans have not expanded their base. Rather, it was the Democrats and other like-minded people who decided to sit this one out.
I sat this one out (for president at least). My loss had to be made up somewhere.

If Trump is terrible then the Republicans have a serious serious problem because it will be very difficult to replace an incumbent with another candidate. (Has it ever been done? Even Gerald Ford wasn't replaced.)

OTOH, the next time he runs it will be with a record.

This election was all about rural America vs. metropolitan America. Just look at the maps. Substitution words and phrases for "rural America" and "metropolitan America" is what seems to be in play here.

You guys look so ignorant every time you use the KKK reference. Their membership nationwide is between 5000-8000. The population in the U.S is 300 million. They are basically irrelevant.

You guys lost all credibility with the race card after the nation elected a black man to the presidency twice by big margins. You cant then say that it turned around and became racist because of Trump.

A few points:
1) Racism is not the same as bigotry. The latter is, broadly, hatred of those not like you. The former is merely supporting policies or a aystem which (dis)advantage one race over another, either purposefully or incidentally.

You may not a bigot, but you can still be racist. You can actually *vote* for one black man (because he's not like 'the others') and still be a bigot. Voting is not a car wash for your soul. It can stain you though.

2) Trump campaigned as a bigot. You may not think Mexicans are rapists, but that isn't a deal breaker for you. You voted for him anyway. He's promised to execute polices in line with his bigotry. That's systemic racism, racially biased law.

3) So yes, you support racist policies by de facto. You can't say "I only voted for the non racist part of Trump." His platform is not labelled for individual resale. You bought the whole package. You literally supported racism.

4) If you support a racist, then you are a racist too. Sorry if that damages your self image, but this is the truth of your actions. You can say it's "still worth it because abortion/taxes/whatever", as you have the right to your own priorities.

You just can't pretend you didn't throw a lot of your fellow Americans under the bus to get it.

If only the working people of both regions worked together, the real 'enemy' is the rich corporations gettin fatter on the backs of working people. But divide and rule works every time

I work in the IT/education sector of the Health Care industry, and I can tell you that my hospital system is receiving smaller payments from insurance companies across the board because they are assessing higher patient liability (deductibles, co-pays, co-insurance) in their contractually alowed amounts due to ACA. Patients are not paying up either, so we are getting paid less overall. So much so, that the organization is being forced to make tough budget cuts and there is a highering freeze in our business office (only highering contractors right now). According to VP's in my organization, other organizations across the country are experiencing a similar phenomenon due to the changes to insurance plans. I don't have data for you, but it's definitely real for us.

Trite I'll give you, but if "special snowflake" is what qualifies as condescending... well, let's just say I wouldn't recommend you pick up a part-time job as a referee or collection agent.

The whole point of the Federation is to eventually get everybody on board. One day--Klingons, Romulans, Cardassians, everybody will be waving the blue-and-white banner. ;)

And the method they used to do it involved allowing them to dick around and do whatever they wanted out of fear of being called racist by simpletons, because believing in peace means being a doormat? Of course not, cooperation is a two way street. Picard put the Klingons & Romulans in their place.

Look imitation, just like most bots.

Here we go again.

This is the problem with arguing with nihilists. Ok, you're pro abortion, and you're also ok with yourself being aborted, and you have disdain for moral arguments. That doesn't make you consistent, it just means you apply your own self hate onto the rest of us worthless slugs. It's not a real argument.

Yeah deductibles have gone way up. Lady at work had to pay like $10,000 before insurance would start paying. Same insurance company, but the coverage is starting to suck and the price has doubled.

I wouldn't have to suffer through your posts or the posts of your fellow like minded posters.
This is what I have an issue with, I've made some posts on this thread. I've had different views on this thread with some other people, but I don't believe that I've been disrespectful to anybody on here. However, I ask question, a legitimate question in my opinion. Yet your response is that somehow all my posts or my (along with anybody who shares them) thoughts are inferior or wrong since you have to "suffer" through them. I'm entitled to my thoughts and I have treated people fine on this board and I expect the same from them in return.
