He wants to deport ~12 million people. I'll give you a little hint on this: there is no humane way to undertake such a massive operation. So he will either have to give up on that pretty quickly, or we'll be seeing a lot more misery.

And how easy do you think it is to spot an undocumented immigrant? Do you think they wear hats announcing it? They don't. This means Latinos and anyone mistaken for being one is likely to be harassed and abused just for how they look. In fact, this is already happening. People who voted for Trump out of racist beliefs now feel vindicated. They are going after people of color.

See above, and stop-and-frisk is an illegal invasion of civil rights. It's not a minor quibble. It was and is a racist policy.

We already had "extreme vetting." What's gonna do, add another X or two to it?

He wants to ban Muslims from entering this country indefinitely.

First off, Milo is a terrible example to use in anything except as a portrait of human awfulness.

Second, while Trump himself has had little to say about LGBT issues, his Vice President is an ardent gaybasher who believes in conversion therapy, which kills people. His government is likely to be full of similar folks, and given that he doesn't seem to care about LGBT issues at all, they will have a free hand to oppress and injure.

People who believe this are going to be very disappointed.

Corporate profits were at an all-time high before Trump won. Taxes are not why they don't build here.
Trump backtracked on deportation shortly after he changed campaign managers and said he only wants to deport the criminal element of illegal immigrants

Stop and Frisk is unconstitutional and continues to be shut down in the court system. Trump will have no control over this.

Trump can't stop Muslims from migrating to the U.S. Also unconstitutional. And, it would just mean that those who believe they are at war with us would lie to gain entry.

Still millions of people, according to his 100-day plan.

Stop and Frisk is unconstitutional and continues to be shut down in the court system. Trump will have no control over this.

So he lied?

And that is the problem we want Bangledeshi prices with Western wages and standard of living... Good luck with that!
Yeah voting for a white male billionaire, - very radical...:shifty:
Neither was Hitler and he used the same Trump tactics

Okay, first, use the multiquote function and combine those posts into one instead of doing a bunch in a row.

Second, this remark is way out of line:
Must be nice to be in the same bed as the KKK - happy orgasm to ya!
You guys have seemingly resolved your differences amicably, so I'll let it slide this time, but don't make any further comments like this or you will receive an infraction for trolling.

5. People who believe this are going to be very disappointed.

Corporate profits were at an all-time high before Trump won. Taxes are not why they don't build here.

1. Personally, I think that it is nearly impossible to deport ever illegal immigrant. I do think that if they commit a crime here, they should be deported. I also think think that more should be done to prevent, but I do think expecting Mexico to pay for a wall is unrealistic also.

2. I think we're in agreement that stop and frisk is wrong.

3. I think he'll continue with this policy and hopefully it will prevent attacks like what happened in France and Germany.

4. I'll admit that I do not know much about him, but what do you have against him? Is it that he has an opposing view to you?

5. I think high corporate taxes played a part in factories leaving, since countries like Mexico and China have much lower corporate taxes.

The US is already deporting like crazy. Trump is unlikely to be able to accelerate this--Obama was pretty much deporting people as quickly as he could.

2. I think we're in agreement that stop and frisk is wrong.

Good.

3. I think he'll continue with this policy and hopefully it will prevent attacks like what happened in France and Germany.

Unlikely. You can't prevent them all.

4. I'll admit that I do not know much about him, but what do you have against him? Is it that he has an opposing view to you?

When I lived in Indiana, he was my Congressman. I've been familiar with Pence for a long time. It's not a matter of simple disagreement--the man's fundamental view of the world is contrary to reality. He is anti-science, a staunch theocrat who doesn't care what happens to people who don't believe as he does, a gaybasher (as I said) who wants to "convert" gay people into straight ones (and as AP has noted, this kills people), and so on. How much damage he can cause will depend entirely on how much power Trump gives him, but during the election there were indications that Trump doesn't really care about the day-to-day duties of being President, and would prefer to leave that to his VP. In the case of Pence, that's a terrifying proposition.

5. I think high corporate taxes played a part in factories leaving, since countries like Mexico and China have much lower corporate taxes.

Their much, much cheaper labor would be the bigger factor.

Labour costs are cheaper overseas that is why companies went from west to East - its all abour overheads

And lower labour costs that is the main driver not just corporate taxes

I don't really find defenses of Trump that revolve around "He didn't mean the horrible things he said (or contradicted himself)" or "He can't actually do the horrible things he proposed" very reassuring, fonzob, since regardless of whether that is true or not, it signals the path he wants to take and the path many of his followers want him to take.

Newt Gingrich wants new House Un-American Activities Committee

By Gregory Krieg, CNN
Updated 6:37 PM ET, Tue June 14, 2016

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is calling for the creation of a new House Committee on Un-American Activities, invoking the infamous "Red Scare"-era congressional body as a blueprint for weeding out American ISIS adherents and sympathizers.

"We originally created the House Un-American Activities Committee to go after Nazis," he said during an appearance on "Fox and Friends" this week. "We passed several laws in 1938 and 1939 to go after Nazis and we made it illegal to help the Nazis. We're going to presently have to go take the similar steps here."
Gingrich, a vocal supporter of Donald Trump, has been touted as a potential running mate for the presumptive Republican nominee.

His comments on Monday echoed Trump's, as the billionaire businessman suggested "Muslim communities" should be held to greater account for the actions of their neighbors.

"They know what is going on," Trump said during a speech Monday in New Hampshire. "They know that (the Orlando killer) was bad. They knew the people in San Bernardino were bad. But you know what, they didn't turn them in, and we had death and destruction."

The House Un-American Activities Committee was founded on the eve of World War II but gained greater notoriety a decade later as it launched a series of investigations into alleged communist elements inside the U.S. government and other aspects of U.S. society.

Holy shit, this is fucking scary. C'mon, conservative posters, this isn't just a support your team issue. This should scare the living hell out of everyone. This is Gingrich and Trump's own words expressing their intentions, not liberals making up nasty lies. It doesn't matter whether they can implement it in the end, this is what they want to do, which should be disqualifying in itself. People on both sides of the political spectrum need to speak out against this while we still can.

I also think think that more should be done to prevent, but I do think expecting Mexico to pay for a wall is unrealistic also.

Trump plans on accomplishing this by stopping wire transfers of money from the United States to Mexico. This means Mexicans won't be able to send funds back home. They pay for the wall if they want wire transfers again.

It certainly won't make you like the person that he is any more, but I think understanding his limitations as President is important to the conversation. If he attempts to violate the constitution, it can be challenged and shot down in the courts.

I see the idea. I don't think some people realize how unhelpful it is to diversity and acceptance when every time a bomb goes off they say "Well, it can't possibly be the same people it was the last seven times, because that's profiling!" Pretty soon those people get tuned out.

There's a problem. This might not be the solution. But so far there haven't been any competing solutions. (I didn't realize that the House Un-American committee dated back to the Nazis. I learned something today.) When a Muslim extremist shoots up an army base and it gets classified "workplace violence" (which has terrible pay consequences for the families of those harmed or killed, btw) one might get the idea that some people just aren't serious about this.

But if I learned anything in the last 12 years it's this: Don't put anything into government that you don't want the other side to get their hands on. I have a sad feeling that executive orders are going to get reeeeeeal unconstitutional soon. Or at least different people will start saying they are. And I'm glad to see the separation of powers seeing such a comeback.

Hell, federalism might even be popular again.

And as Mr. Trump would be the first to tell you, he didn't run as a conservative.

At this point I am not certain if it is useful arguing about what Trump might do. He is a slippery fellow and he is smart enough to realize that there is a bigger picture.
This election has certainly left a bitter after taste with Trump winning, but it was bitter right from the start election cycle. The republican candidates were totally outrageous, save for one or two. The democratic field was also disappointing. Although I was for Hillary Clinton I was hardly warming up to her, she seemed far too troubled. As for Bernie Sanders. He may have been a better candidate in hindsight, but then he could have fought harder for the nomination.

I hope the coming four years will be a lesson for everybody, a part of the learning curve of life. I also hope it won't be a repeat of 1934.

I just want to say, I appreciate that you were able to treat somebody with some opposing views with respect and not resort to insults. Also, you can at least back up your views instead of just declaring them. I can respect those qualities in a person.
