The right person won and she should be the one to take office. And yes, I'm a hypocrite. But I also care about the country more than I do the feelings of the other candidate or their supporters.
Are you referring to Hillary winning the popular vote by a fraction of a percentage point? According to our constitution, she didn't win. She recognized that herself. It will take a constitutional amendment to get rid of the electoral college.
I'd consider it payback for 2000.

Come on, we elect state by state as you well know and Trump got the popular vote in every state he won. Hillary didn't connect with enough people there in the center of the country to get out and vote for giving up on the process or to convince someone who was just voting Trump because Washington doesn't do jack for them as they see it. They are an angry part of the country and Hillary's message did nothing to assuage that anger.
You're right. It does little to null my anger over this election result, but points taken.
Half the stuff worried about in this thread is not real. It is emotionally charged and exaggerated. It's toss out whatever scary image you can think of because it makes a bigger and easier target until he's a symbol for everything evil in the world.

You really don't need to exaggerate some of the statements Trump made during his campaign.
People have genuine and real fears, they are not exaggerated, they are a direct consequence of statements made by Trump.
There are people out there, a hell of a lot of them, that see Trumps victory as vindication for their intolerance and bigotry and now feel free to act on it. We saw likewise after Brexit.
He spoke yesterday about being a president for all Americans, this, above everything else, has to be his absolute first priority. Personally, I have a hard time believing a word that comes out his mouth.

Stuff being said like deporting every immigrant, making women sub human and banning abortion outright are totally exaggerations. I say that as someone who did not vote for Trump because I still disagree with him.
