I'm going to be kind and say they really want 1950s back. The last time that white men were fully in charge and anyone who objected was "dealt with". That's what they want. They want to run the show and never have to give any minority "special rights" which is really the right to make them equal to white men. They want to be special and superior to everyone else.

Warp drive will fix everything.

And just wondering: For every person opposed to others wanting to run the show, there needs to be a person who wants to run the show?

The people who want to are the least qualified to do so and under no circumstance should they be allowed to.

"I'm tired of all this 'political correctness.' Why should I have to treat women and blacks as if they're people? Ridiculous!"

LOL. Welcome to the "Absurd And Disgusting" Club as defined below from this thread:

...Politicians are stupid people, and the only people who deserve to win political positions are those who don't want them.

This is an absurd and disgusting statement. Maybe democratic countries are not for you, then.

...a namesake of yours, John C. Maxwell, and many others say things like this:
In most cases, those who want power probably shouldn't have it, those who enjoy it probably do so for the wrong reasons, and those who want most to hold on to it don't understand that it's only temporary.
or most commonly:
Power should only be given to those who don't want it.

So, really? Absurd and disgusting? Undemocratic? I'd take a look at the people who have said it before making such an edict.

Related.

So yeah, it's actually the anti-PC brigade that's hindering a free open and civil discourse.
I'm sure that someone will come around to claim that both sides are doing bad things, so they're "equally bad". It takes so much time to actually look into something and it's far easier to just dismiss and never think about it.

That third option seems to be something people worry about. Why would that be scary?

Because both Congress and the Executive Branch would be led by people who get aroused at the ideas of institutionalized racism, sexism, xenophobia, religious intolerance and gender inequality, government shutdowns / defaults, bizarre hawkish behavior in international relations, insane fiscal practices, the eradication of civil liberties ... I could keep going on.

If anything, one of the most terrifying things about a Trump presidency would be that he'd fill the vacancy on the Supreme Court with someone who would quite likely make Justice Scalia look like a cute kitten in terms of jurisprudence.

So, yeah, given the Suicide Caucus' behavior in Congress, the last thing I want is jackwagons like Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell determining policy alongside Donald "Grab 'em by the pussy" Trump.

OK I can see that being very bad for everyone..

It would also be very bad for other nations who have to deal with the USA, and that is basically everyone on the planet. OK don't want this, but I have a bad feeling we might get this.
