CBS/Paramount sues to stop Axanar

At the risk of receiving another threatening email from Chris Jones, I'm amazed Trek.fm has kept those podcasts online, much less published new ones after the lawsuit was filed. If there ever was an FTC or California AG investigation into any of this this, Jones and his partners could be liable for effectively publishing "deceptive" advertising.

This is the same podcast network that has repeatedly given everyone's favorite Star Trek historian a public forum, free of even the lightest criticism, to advertise his crappy, unlicensed books with a slew of mistatements and outright whoppers. I am not surprised.

Huh? What podcast and historian are we talking about?

Multiple podcasts on the Trek.FM network, not just one. Standard Orbit, Melodic Treks, Trek Stars, and The Ready Room have had the man in question as a prominent guest (which doesn't count podcasts like Axanar that have heaped praises upon his books without interviewing him).

As for his identity, I think it's time to cash in and call @Indysolo ...

It costs money and takes some time to get the transcript from court hearings. Normally, they take 14 days (seven days expedited if you're willing to pay more). So they're "easy" to obtain if you've got time and moolah.
So, the public can get hold of it. But is it allowed to be reported on , specifically quoted from, on either AxaMonitor, or Mr Lanes blog also? Just curious, not personally bothered whether I get to read it or not.

As you will shortly discover, the events of the October 21 discovery hearing have become far less interesting given the documents the studios' attorneys filed on Thursday following up on what I reported on Twitter and Facebook on Monday — that Peters himself withheld a huge amount of emails and records central to the case, and his attorneys were caught by surprise about it. Stay tuned soon for the full AxaMonitor story about it.

Not to steal any of Carlos' thunder (very much looking forward to the Axamonitor article on this), but here are two recent postings from the Facebook group (C/P vs Axanar - where these documents can be found in their entirety - LOTS to look at and read)

I'm currently writing about the past year with Axanar's lawsuit. As such, I've just read through the latest available PDF's regarding this whole email issue.

Nothing so far has made me utter the words "You're f--ked" as loudly as this has.

The supporting evidence is incredibly revealing; not just in the confirmation that emails etc were 'forgotten', but that Ranahan seemed almost surprised by this and that emails included Peters ratting out a good chunk of people, including continues.

Considering this was just a sample of the thousands - and there's still the possibility of McIntosh having more.... this isn't going to be brushed aside by shouting 'HATERS!' at everyone.

As far as the confidentiality of the financial statement/annual report goes...........I find it kind of surprising LFIM hasn't opened his eyes to the fact that no one has/has had the guts to contact the CA Attorney General or file a Class Action suit and is still so paranoid about letting the 'embarrassing' details out. (After the legal system is finished with him, those will be the least of his concerns)

Hoo-boy:

...the only document Mr. Peters has turned over relating to the expenditure of the $1.4 million he raised from Star Trek fans to create Star Trek: Axanar is a financial summary prepared by his accountant. Mr. Peters has marked that document as “Highly Confidential” restricting its use in this lawsuit to counsel for the parties. This document shows the amounts and dates on which Mr. Peters paid himself and his colleagues, and paid for his personal expenses with funds from Star Trek fans. (Emphasis added)

Now that might interest someone at the California Attorney General's office.
