Together again indeed. Shatner and West previously co-starred in an Alexander the Great TV pilot (with Shatner in the title role) that was made in 1964, failed, but was then aired on an anthology show in 1968 to capitalize on its two stars' subsequent fame.

That should be a lot of fun.
I wonder if that will be related to the unproduced episode, that was supposed to feature Clint Eastwood as Two-Face, that they did a comic book adaptation of.

I kinda hope not, since that story's already been told in the comics. At least, I hope they do it differently than Len Wein's comic-book expansion of Ellison's story outline, because the comic was a bit too much of a conventional Two-Face story, rather than something that really fit the Batman '66 milieu.

I didn't think about it when it was first announced, but I love that Two-Face looks like Shatner in the 60s. Its a pretty obvious thing to do, but for some reason I didn't expect it.

I might have missed this...but I assume very kid friendly? A nd will it be out on Redbox?
From the interviews I've seen, the humor is updated for modern audience. "Pointed" and "a bit more naughty" are the references I remember. But even so, kids probably won't get the "naughty" bits. Hopefully like the old Bugs Bunny and Bullwinkle cartoons, lots of stuff for the grown-ups but still ok for the kids. We'll see.

I pre-ordered the Blu-Ray today. Can't wait.

Awesome stuff. I just saw this in the theater! Very funny, very impressive. You forget how old Adam West is after awhile. Tons of in jokes. I totally thought they were going to "explain" Batman's later darkness when he pulled his first ever disappearing act and started to fight with more violence, but it is totally explained in the plot. You can tell everyone had a blast making this. Nothing too "naughty" at all, thats for sure. There is one absolutely hilarious, ingenious bit where Batman is seeing triple Catwomen. They definitely reference the old show quite a bit. There is a funny jab at the ending of the Nolan trilogy buried in there as well.

^James Tucker and Michael Jelenic were actually the developers and showrunners of Batman: The Brave and the Bold. So they're good choices for this.

Looks like they don't have the likeness rights to Neil Hamilton, since they've given Commissioner Gordon a mustache. I didn't recognize the voice, but it sounded kind of Hamilton-like. The Penguin didn't sound much like Burgess Meredith, unfortunately.

It definitely had a "Brave and the Bold" lightheartedness too it; I thought of Aquaman a couple of times during the movie. The Penguin reminded me of the Superfriends era Penguin, or at least something campier from the old days. I don't have a clear enough mememory of Burgess Meredith's voice.

Shatner is so damn awesome.

CBS/P really needs to take notice of this, and let Shatner head up an animated Star Trek '66 movie in the same vein as this one, with voice actors approximating the ones that can no longer do the voices. He is so full of energy and vitality for his age. West and Shatner are both *legendary* and the recent passings of so many other famous character-actors should really be driving home the importance of doing this while they still can.

I dunno how well that would work, really. I mean, I have never heard anyone do a good Leonard Nimoy impression -- other than Anna Torv on Fringe, who got his delivery down uncannily, but obviously didn't capture the timbre of his voice at all.

Besides, with Batman, most of the supporting cast is gone, but at least both members of the core duo are still around, so reuniting them feels right. With Trek, only one of the central four cast members is left. It wouldn't be the same.

I would still be okay with that. Most of the villains in the Batman movie weren't original voice actors, but brought the same style. I wouldn't mind a mix up of TOS, STC and/or Kelvinverse voice actors to complete the cast if need be.

Plus, it would be a chance to let Uhura, Sulu and Chekov shine, before its too late.

I am so glad that the Ghostbusters Video Game was made with the prinicpal cast all involved. It could have been a series if they hadn't waited so loog. I just think it is a damn shame to not continue with the originals when possible - An animated Back to the Future or Indiana Jones series would be perfect right about now, with the actors still able to do the voice work.

If the lack of the rest of the cast would be too glaring, then a secret/lost mission with Shatner and a bunch of new characters would more then hold my attention.

Christopher Lloyd and Tom Wilson (in a second release, replacing an alternate actor) both reprised their movie roles and Micheal J. Fox voiced a new character in one episode of Back to Future: The Game.

I had every intention of seeing this today. My closet theatre 5 mintues away is not showing it. So I drove over 40 miles to the nearest in the same chain that was. 2pm comes and the movie is not starting. I complain and it took the manager over a 30 mintues to tell me plus a father and his teenage son, only ones in the afternoon showing, they where never sent the computer file!

We were told we could come back at the next scheduled showing at 7:30pm. By then they would have it. I was really annoyed. I had no intention of coming back so much later. We all got our money back. The father and son both got free passes each. But given my drive I was given 3 passes. I am still irritated that they had no idea they had not received a film they where scheduled to show until after it was supposed have started. They should precheck all their films. When I was in High School I worked at a movie theater. Even back than with physical prints they would have test screenings the night before to ensure there was no damage.

A series of games? The Sierra video game was only put into production because Sony wanted to cash in on the 25th anniversary, and Murray's involvement was so up in the air that Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson recorded much of Venkman's dialogue in the event that he didn't actually show up for recording (which he finally did, for a few days, after Sony gave him profit participation).

I think recasting the classic Star Trek cast for animation would be a huge mistake. It's unnecessary too. There was an unproduced video game written by DC Fontana which they all recorded dialogue for many years ago.

I mean a television series featuring the original characters and cast. Same principal is the game (CGI/animations in place of aging actors)... and as you demonstrated, Murray could be bribed when necessary. I had always hoped for another series or sequel (that never happened), so getting the game was a godsend.

"Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders" small Batmobile/Batcave clip debuts, just enough to whet our appetites:
