Spoilers Gotham - Season 3

And surely working with a weapons specialist who already knew what to do would've taken a lot less time than working with a medical doctor who needed to have every step explained to him as they went.

I know we don't do running commentary with Gotham but I just saw a scene with Penguin talking to reporters. I hope they're not going to have a story arc with Penguin running for mayor.

Oh, that's a classic. They did it on Batman '66 -- probably their best story ever -- and there was a storyline in the tie-in/sequel comic to the animated series The New Batman Adventures where Penguin actually became the mayor.
 
I was confused by that, actually. So Pengy is completely absolved of all his crimes? He's not a wanted fugitive? Because Hugo Strange, who was later proven to be an evil madman, cleared him?
 
Strange may be an evil madman but you cannot prove his judgement was in error when he found Penguin cured and ready to be released. So Penguin is perfectly ok to be running around outside.

The things they allow characters on this show to get away with is insane. Because Gordon went to Blackgate, his 40 years for one murder was going to stick, but at Arkham, Strange has the power override sentences and free multiple mass murderers after a couple months? It's just more lazy writing. They want to punish characters, but not for too long because they still want them on the show and this whole nonsense with Strange allowed them a reset button.
 
So now Ivy is (well, looks) 5 or 6 years older than Bruce, and is suddenly a psychotic killer.
Okayy.
 
Ah....I was wondering about Lee...are Ben and Morena still together? Is MIGHT be interesting.

Glad Strange is still around... hopefully for a while.


Regarding Penguin...we know he killed an average of one person per episode during the first season, but what has he actually been convicted of?
 
While I liked The Mentalist, Gotham is making me view Bruno Heller as another Tim Kring and I will likely be passing on all his future shows. The comments Heller actually made about his own show didn't help either.

That was my first thought too.
I really liked the confrontation between Bruce and the Court of Owls representative, and Penguin and Fish's scene was great too.
Hmm apparently Ivy's clothes grew with her, or they just happened to be baggy enough as a kid to fit her now.

Well, she did say she was changed inside and out. I think this is basically going to be a reboot of the character, who might remember her history with Bruce and Selina, but will be acting totally different.
 
I really hope that's the last we see of Fish Mooney for a long time.

The handling of this whole Poison Ivy thing is so icky and insane.
 
In Gotham, only real men get stitches because there's no anesthetic, it just hurts a little.

Despite the Mad Hatter, it seemed a little less insane (relatively...) than normal this week maybe since Fish and Co. weren't present. Alice being his sister is a new angle, no? I'm not that familiar with the comics but I always thought "Alice" was someone who he was obsessed with in a stalker way.

It'd be a shame if Selina hits it off with Deuce Wayne more than the real article.

Well they've done it. They're going down the route of Penguin running for office. I missed the first 30 minutes. I saw Penguin threaten the current mayor and drop a button on the table

What makes you think she's his sister? Because of the story he told Gordon to convince him to track her down?
