Star Trek and MAC Cosmetics

balls

Commander
Red Shirt
I picked up my wife and daughters at a local salon the other day. There was a MAC Cosmetics display with the 50th Anniversary products. My daughters did buy some. I was troubled, though, by the display. Specifically, the image of Uhura's uniform and insignia. They have command one and not the services division. Was that a conscious decision? Did somebody at Paramount/CBS miss it? It seems like an easy one to get right and they should have gotten it right.

It's such a small thing. Casual viewers are not likely to even notice, much less give a crap at all about such minutiae.

Those pictures are awesome!

They have 50th Anniversary cosmetic products?

I doubt anyone in the creative process even noticed. It's a very minor detail from a non fans perspective.

Can't stop looking at the green chick. She ruined my crush on Dot Matrix. :adore:

As for Uhura, they meant to put her in the green uni, that's how they messed up on the insignia. ;)

I think the star insignia was a deliberate choice, because it's more attractive than the curled lighting bolt. There's no way commercial art was prepared without studying actual photos.
