1) We tried to settle, but they wouldn't take our offer of leftover fundraiser patches in exchange for all the rights to Star Trek. Meanies.
After some of the things I've seen happen in the corporate world and drawing lines between a few indirect points, I'm left to believe W&S involvement is far more nefarious than meets the eye.
" All we have ever wanted to do is produce the fan film that 14,000 donors have donated to see."
So instead we can show them the massive mothballed studio with the wonderful plush offices they paid for...
Dr. McCoy and I are getting nostalgic now for the period not too long ago where LFIM was living under a rock and not saying/posting anything.......

Has anyone stopped to consider Axanar may just be one of J.J. Abrams' marketing gimmicks gone horribly wrong?
The angle was that JJ was using the "suit will be dropped" line as an attempt to placate the hard core Trekkies.Seems like that thought was kicking around here about 6 months ago. Quite a bear trap he stepped into, if so.

I think that supposition has proven to be correct.
"In the mean time, there are some pretty cool things we are doing for Axanar and one, that will frankly, blow you away. But we won’t be saying much about those things until we actually release them."
How many things is that now? About eight I think. Eight secret things that he'd like to reveal, really he would, but he just can't right now. And none of these big reveals have ever occurred. I've got a Yukka Tree in my living room that catches on quicker than your average Axanar fan.
Axanar had better be careful with the law. Continuing to act defiantly may well propel them over into criminal charges. Imagine for example if they had this attitude towards the IRS in response to an audit. Think they are smart enough to only defy things that stay on the civil side? I don't anymore.
Yeah. For several months I kept notations of these notices of coming big & exciting things that can't be revealed yet (and many other notations on Plaintiffs, production, suit, similar law suits, attorneys, histories, etc) for personal referencing as I attempted to get a better picture of everybody's POV in this litigation and discern facts vs... etc. until I felt comfortable that I had a better grasp of the situations overall. After that I purged everything as unnecessary to me anymore. At the time of my purge I'm pretty sure I had six noted instances of these announcements compiled from the production site, the production's official podcast, and the production's offical vlog. And this latest one, makes seven. And I think I remember noticing another one between the purge and this one. So eight does seem at least very close to accurate to me. There is only one I remember being announced as coming to fruition. It was law firms lining up to take the defendant & production's case."In the mean time, there are some pretty cool things we are doing for Axanar and one, that will frankly, blow you away. Being "trained as an attorney" he should know how to control himself. And again aside from the 'spin factor' I see in play, I see an excited person speaking way too soon about them because he wants me to be excited with him. Where he seems to fall short, at least to me, and where Hollywood professionals and indeed business people at large know better than to do this, the excitement isn't filtered to take into account the myriad pitfalls that have a tendency to thwart possibilities... before announcing things that are coming.
^^^ Absolutely. Which circles me back to what I see as demonstrating a lack of business acumen.
He said he was trained, not how well he was trained.Being "trained as an attorney" he should know how to control himself.
