Excessive Criticism of "STAR TREK VOYAGER"

The Borg can only acquire superior technology when it is being defended by inferior (military) technology.

A Borg Cube might be repelled by a powerful alien Star Ship, but they could also figure out the tech in that Star Ship and how to counter it's shields and weapons, by bullying a tiny shuttle underpinned by identical technology, and taking what they need from junior.

The Borg are also not that sneaky.

They believe that everyone wants to be Borg and that they are being helpful and generous by assimilating the galaxy.

The borg can't acquire superior technology because they wouldn't know how to use it, they' wouldn't know how it works. If something is based on lasers (like a DVD player for example) and if you don't know about lasers, how would you know how to use it?

By assimilating the species/people that uses/invented the technology, and integrating those skills into the collective

2 trillion people spread across 40 planets, protected by 8 heavy battle cruisers, and a few hundred lightly armed shuttles.

How an empire, small or massive, defends itself, is never entirely uniform, unless it's an empire of just one dude.

Figuring out an entire culture from assimilating one lightly armed shuttle, and the engineers in those shuttles, and the databases in those shuttles, seems easier then heading off against 5 heavy battle cruisers with no intelligence on what that species technology is about, before they introduce themselves.

Are you referring to some specific event?

No.

It was a very general comment from the beginning.

If there is valuable stuff standing around, and no one is guarding it well, then thieves will more than likely just take it.

The problem with that is, that the Borg investigating the AQ waltzed in between the Federation and Romulans, attacking and harvesting fortified heavily over gunned Neutral Zone Outposts.

Federation/Romulan technology was so pathetic, that the Borg went Home without any interest in a second course.

You throw back the little fish.

Not necessarily, depending on when the collective consciousness and neural links were formed.

The preservation of their data would span to each member, allowing knowledge to be gathered and maintained without fear of loss of one world, ship or station diminishing their data.

Again, technological advancements move at different rates, speeds and effects depending on emphasis. It isn't automatic or a "level-up" like a video game.

Let me put it this way. If the Borg ever attacked the Organians what do you think would've happened?

They wouldn't, as the Organians do not present themselves as being technologically advanced. Most noncorporeal beings would either be ignored or easily remove themselves from the situation, such as the Q.

Or maybe the borg are not as smart as you think they are.

I guess it depends on what kind of smart you are talking about. Yeah they have the collective knowledge of all of the species they have assimilated but I think they have made some dumb moves. First being not completely destroying every major species in the AQ.

From their perspective, after assimilating Picard they had all of his knowledge and everything a captain in Star Fleet knows, so they know Federation tech is inferior to them. They also saw that one Borg cube took all of the Federation's recources to destroy so they know that in that regard the Federation is also inferior. So from their point of view they have nothing to gain by going after the Federation. But If I was the Borg I would have destroyed the Federation anyway, stop a potential future threat.

I wonder if they tried to go after the Q, what would happen if they did.

According to Q2, even Q consider the Borg a threat.

Well, not really. Q can make three cubes appear and then he can make them disappear just as fast as he made them appear.
He very sternly told his son not to provoke them. That does imply that there is something to them the Q consider threatening.
